Vehicle Detail

1996 CORVETTE COLLECTOR EDITION, 330HP LT4, 30K MILES, $16,995 OBO. I bought this beautiful Collector Edition Corvette in Texas about 3 years ago and shipped it to Oregon. I am the second owner. This Corvette has always been driven gently, but it is well equipped for the most demanding driving conditions. The price I am asking for this car, which is well below the Kelly Blue Book value, belies its excellent condition. It has every available factory option, including the LT4 engine (underrated at 330 HP, 340 lb-ft ), climate control, F45 selective damping ride control (which is much more sophisticated than the FX3 selective damping ride control system available in earlier Corvettes), both removable tops (glass and painted), dual power sport seats and Bose stereo with CD player. It has no damage history, repainting or fading. It looks, sounds and drives great. The 19" Chrome C6 Z06 premium alloy wheels and tires have fewer than 200 miles. The car is all original, except for the wheels, tires, mufflers and battery. It has been driven only in fair weather, and has always been garaged and covered. It is very clean and straight. The paint, glass, seats, carpets, dash and weatherstrips are all original and in excellent condition. The carpets, including the door sills, are like new. There is no abrasion or wear on the black leather. The interior smells like new. The car is smoke-free. It has no rattles or fluid leaks. It has been well maintained with Mobil 1 at 2K intervals, and the correct ZF transmission oil at 10k intervals. It is mechanically excellent. The 6 speed manual transmission shifts exactly as it should. The clutch engagement is perfect. The shifter boot, shift knob and foot pedal pads are all original and in excellent condition. The LT4 starts instantly and idles smoothly and quietly, except for a deep rumble from the hot roller cam through the polished stainless MagnaFlows. This car has a very responsive F45 ride control system. It has sensors at all 4 wheels which provide instantaneous information to the central ride controller. The central controller adjusts each of the 4 shocks individually (at an interval of 10-15 milliseconds - about once every foot of distance travelled at 60 mph) according to which of 3 driving modes is selected by the driver. It also has the high performance 330 HP LT4 engine, which came from the factory with a more aggressive camshaft profile, low-friction roller bearing valve train components, aluminum 1.6:1 roller rocker arms, and high-flow heads, none of which complement the standard 300 HP LT1 engine found in most 1996 Corvettes. These technological improvements enable the LT4 engine to get the same fuel economy as the lesser LT1 (27 MPG HWY). If you're interested in seeing some of the differences between the LT1 and LT4 engines, visit http://www.malcams.com/legacy/misc/LT4.htm . Both sets of original keys with keyless passive entry fobs are in excellent condition, as is the complete, original owner’s manual kit and MSRP window sticker. This is a beautiful, well maintained car. If you prefer to buy it with the original 5-spoke silver Collector Edition wheels (which are in excellent condition, with no scratches), LTPWS sensors and excellent (90%) Goodyear Eagle tires, I will be happy to switch them for you. I do not have the original mufflers, but excellent replicas are available at Ecklers for $200. http://www.ecklers.com/corvette-aluminized-mufflers-1992-1996.html A $1000 deposit is required within 48 hours. The balance is due no later than 10 days after end of auction. I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells through a different agency. It is also posted at autotrader.com until it sells. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=280247903 I am NOT interested in lower offers, and will not reply to them. I would be happy to send you the photos from this listing. You are welcome to contact me. haroldford@hotmail.com
