Vehicle Detail
The Fairlane 500 was the top of the line Fairlane for 1963. This car has 45,412 well-documented actual miles. This car sold new to a lady in Booneville, Missouri, documented by entry at the front of the original owners manual and chrome dealer plate on trunk lid. This is a very nice low mileage car. It has been repainted and has a mirror gloss finish. The bright work is very sharp to excellent unrestored original. The rear bumper has been rechromed and is flawless. We don’t believe the solid body has ever had rust repair. The undercarriage is solid as well. The interior, still has what we believe to us the factory unrestored upholstery, door panels, carpet, and painted metal dash & tops of door panels; they are extra clean and nicely appointed. The original 221 cu. In. V8 was factory rated at 145 horsepower; it starts readily hot or cold and runs very strong. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly. In fact, the entire drivetrain is tight. The steering is tight; the car is very stable at 75-80 miles per hour. Manual brakes are swift and sure, while the manual steering is light. Remember, a lady bought this car new and owned it for many years. Unless you have a physical handicap, it should be easy for you. The weather seals are fine; the car is water tight. An AM-FM stereo radio and cassette player allows you to listen to your favorite “golden oldies” taking you back to your youth. Mechanical parts have been readily available, and inexpensive. Below is what we have done mechanically: - 4 new Broadway Classic Tires - 4 new wheel cylinders - new front brake hoses - Roughly 50% new brake lines - New rear grease seals - New brake light switch - Installed NOS clock - Installed new gas tank sending unit - New heater core - New thermostat - Flushed cooling system - New fan belt - New trunk lock - Rebuilt carbureter - Engine tune-up - New master cylinder & battery Work Done before we bought car: - New valve stem seals in engine - Heater & radiator hoses - Water pump - Car repainted This is a car you can show or drive with pride and confidence. I know we have done so for over 6 years and 12,000 miles including a 1,700 mile trouble free trip to Nebraska. We drive this car day or night, without worries. This is the last year for fins on any ford. We have what we feel is a very reasonable reserve. This car is a lot of fun and attention for a relatively small amount of money. Don’t let this one slip away!View All 99 Photos of this car at: http://www.happydazeclassiccars.com/1963fairlane1.htm http://www.happydazeclassiccars.com/1963fairlane2.htmOn Sep-08-10 at 18:25:27 PDT, seller added the following information: See Video of how the car runs: http://www.happydazeclassiccars.com/carvideo.htmOn Sep-10-10 at 16:45:17 PDT, seller added the following information: See All documentation of the car at: http://www.happydazeclassiccars.com/1963fairlane500documentation.htm
