Available for auction is a 1966 Chevelle Super Sport. This is a true 13817 SS car, not a tribute or clone. The two year restoration was completed in July 2010, and detailed with NOS, new, or rebuilt parts. The paint is new two-stage with clear coat in the original MM code of Aztec Bronze (this color is a rare one-year-only option offered in 1966). This is a southwest rust free car. All sheet metal is original GM, including the painted floor pans that look like new. The interior is completely new including seat covers, seat foams, seat tracks, carpet, sound deadener, insulation, headliner, sail panels, chrome side trim, visors, dash pad, dash bezels, package tray, door panels, arm rests and sill plates. The windows operate smoothly and are all Soft Ray factory tinted with no cracks or chips. The new window felts are original style with the correct rounded chrome bead edges. All rubber seals have been replaced with Soff Seal weather strip. A new Hurst Competition Plus shifter with original style handle has been installed and coupled to a Muncie 4-speed transmission. The clutch is a Zoom 11” heavy duty matched set. The rear is a 12-bolt posi unit. All gauges and lights work properly. This car has all new brakes, Bilstein shocks, suspension components, headers, and a complete 2 ½” custom exhaust system. Both front and rear bumpers are new. All soft exterior trim is new. The car has 15” Rally wheels with new rings and center caps. The engine is a 396 CI with a factory Holley intake. The carb is a new Holley 750 dual feed fed by a Holley high volume pump. The gas tank is stainless steel. The plug wires are Taylor 8mm Spiro Pros. The starter is a 3 hp mini. The radiator is all aluminum. All belts are new. The hoses are new with correct GM numbers. The chrome valve covers and air filter are correct. The alternator has been upgraded to a chrome 100 amp one-wire unit. The power steering pump is rebuilt with new hoses and a correct remote-fill reservoir. This classic starts immediately every time, runs great and handles excellently.
