Restored 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 I own a Toyota Land Cruiser restoration shop and appraisal business. I’m helping my customer and friend sell his nicely restored FJ40. The restoration was completed around 1 year ago, has maybe 150 miles on it since completion. My friend has several early broncos and FJ40‘s, he is selling this one to free up funds for a construction project. I have inspected this vehicle myself, the pictures were taken in my shop. I’m writing this description as objective as possible. 1976+ FJ40’s are the desirable units with disc brakes, 2F motor, 4 speeds, better doors, rear ambulance doors, better heaters. Etc. These came from the factory single stage paint, this paint is a nice basecoat clear coat which will last must longer. This truck was taken apart and each component painted individually. The high traffic area of the tub in gray linex. Paint wears off quickly on the floor, the linex lasts much longer. New seals, new windshield, new seats. The chassis is undercoated, a must have for east coast buyers. The wheels and caps are stock, the tires are new. There is no lift kit on this truck, there is an extra fuel tank in the back. There is no stereo. Mechanical The factory 2F inline 6 motor was rebuilt a few years ago, but has very few miles on it. The 4 speed and case shift and operate smoothly, the truck goes down the road straight. The brakes are factory disc in the front, they stop well. The drive train in this FJ40 is all stock. Overall This is one of the best FJ40’s out there. A typical restoration bill on this at my shop would be in the 40k range, plus the cost of the vehicle. You sure save time and money buying one that is done. I’m open to inspections during the auction, I own Auto Appraisals and Pre-Buy Inspections, so skip me when looking in the phone book.
