You are bidding on a 1987 Volkswagon Cabriolet convertible it is a manual 5spd. Black with black interior It has less than 100,000 original miles. A pioneer cd am/fm stereo The body of the car is in pretty good shape for a car this age. It has a few small dents and some paint fading but no rust The interior the seats are all shot the front seats have seat covers could use new ones and the back seats need something the driver side door panel is pulled up as shown in pics the top is shot we put grace ice and water shield on it (husband is in construction) to cover holes needs to be replaced It needs an altenator that went last summer I just bought a bmw convertible so I took this off the road rather than fix it. I did use a booster pack to start it yesterday and drove it down the road it ran perfect shifts fine brakes are good It has new tires with maybe 2000 miles on them. The muffler is a little loud and the power steering froze up about 3 years ago so I have it disabled and drive it without not to hard to steer unless going real slow than it's a bit stiff to turn I talked to a mechanic and he said if you put a new battery in the car and did not have an incredible distance to drive you could drive this home otherwise it will need to be towed because it will not take a charge without fixing the altenator All in all this is a great car and we will miss it just no real need for it right now as I have 2 other convertibles. I do have it for sale locally so reserve the right to end auction early I am also interested in trading for a decent 4 wheel drive vehicle so if you have something you are interested in trading let me know
