1988 FORD MUSTANG LX 5.0 V8 5SPD MANUAL, CONVERTIBLE. 2ND OWNER OF THIS UNMOLESTED VERY SOUND CLASSIC FOX BODY SURVIVOR! FIRST YEAR OF THE SLOPE NOSE! FIRST YEAR OF "MASS AIR" FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM! THIS CAR IS IN VERY GOOD ORIGINAL CONDITION-KEPT GARAGED OR COVERED. ENGINE FIRES UP WITH AUTHORITY, IDLES SMOOTH AND RUNS THROUGH THE GEARS WITH ALL THE ORIGINAL LEGENDARY POWER & THRUST THIS CAR WAS KNOW FOR. NEVER SMOKES. I'VE USED FULL SYNTHETIC OIL EXCLUSIVELY AS DID THE ORIGINAL OWNER. I DON'T HOT ROD THIS LITTLE MUSCLE CAR BUT IT WILL LIGHT UP THE TIRES AND LEAVE TWO BLACK LINES IF YOU PUSH THE PEDAL DOWN TOO FAST! THE ENGINE IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR A K&N AIR FILTER. THE BODY IS NEARLY PERFECT WITH THE SINGLE EXCEPTION OF A VERY SMALL THUMB SIZED DENT IN THE REAR TRUNK LID THAT IS SEEN IN THE REAR PHOTO. THE PAINT IS HAS THE EXPECTED LIFTING CLEAR IN HORIZONTAL AREAS OF THE HOOD MOSTLY. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO AND REMAINS EXCELLENT. POWER TOP OPERATES SMOOTHLY / PERFECTLY AND THE TOP LATCHES / CLAMPS WORK PERFECTLY. INTERIOR IS GREY CLOTH; SOMEWHAT FADED BUT NO RIPS OR TEARS. CARPET HAS SOME WEAR BUT NO HOLES AND REMAINS SOUND AND INTACT. THE STEREO SOUNDS GOOD WITH A 10CD CHANGER IN THE TRUNK. PWR WINDOWS. AC IS ICE COLD. COOL LOOKING ORIGINAL STEERING WHEEL/PRE AIRBAG W/CRUSE CONTROLS THE TIRES ARE ORIGINAL SIZE 225/60/15 WITH GOOD TREAD REMAINING. BRAKES STOP WELL WITH NEW PADS AND SOLID PEDAL. TRANSMISSION: THE TRANSMISSION WORKS WELL WITH THE SINGLE EXCEPTION OF A SUBTLE SOUND ONLY WHEN UP-SHIFTING FROM THIRD TO FOURTH UNLESS ONE IS CAREFUL (sound can be completely avoided with a split second neutral delay between gears 3-4 which suggests to me the syncor is worn on fourth gear.) OTHERWISE THE 5SPD SNAPS THROUGH THE GEARS CRISPLY UP & DOWN THROUGH ALL GEAR CHANGES. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO TRANNY OR REAR END WHINE OR VIBRATION.
