I bought this Jeep 2 years ago. I had never seen one so rust free and clean. We are a large family and always seem to have one or two of the kids friends along, so I am in the market for a 9 passenger vehicle ...a Suburban or Excursion and will consider trades. I bought this Jeep from a buy here pay here Lot who bought it at the car auction. Turns out the original owners traded in the Jeep and the dealer took it to auction. It was bought new in Deland Florida about 200 miles from my house and I have the WINDOW STICKER and the BUILD SHEET also the original owners manual. When I purchased it I had all the fluids & filters changed, oil, transmission, front and rear differentials rebuilt the calipers replaced wheel cylinders and pads and shoes. Flushed the cooling system and replaced the water pump and thermostat. Replaced the valve cover gaskets and had the carburetor removed and tested on a flow bench. Converted the A/C to R134 and replaced the High Pressure line and thermostatic switch. New Steering Stabilizer and a premium window tint job using a ceramic window tint. Automotive window films block a maximum of 50% of the heat coming through the glass. Because the Jeep has all flat windows on the sides and back so we were able to use a residential/commercial window film that is much more effective. Since then I have driven the Wagoneer 10k miles and the only thing I have had to do besides fuel and oil changes is replace the battery in Nov 09. Obviously I don't use the Jeep daily (ride a motorcycle) but it has been completely reliable. I recently had the vehicle serviced to check for issues and I went through all the systems to check everything. Here is what I found: My mechanic (a friend of 30 yrs thank God) recommended Distributor Cap, Rotor, Plug Wires and Spark Plugs (things we did not change at 98k miles). I had him check the cruise control and he found no issues with the vacuum lines or power but the unit no longer engages. The unit is "self contained" and we could find no test for it. Mechanically we found no other issues. The A/C blows cold, the transmission shifts smoothly, plenty of power and the 4WD works perfect. On a cold start I have to crank the starter for 3-10 seconds lately thus the recommendation to change cap, wires and plugs. But you could drive this Wagoneer from here to Alaska. Amenity wise this Wagoneer was loaded. Power, Leather Seats working perfectly.Power Mirrors, Remote control power door locks, sadly the remotes are long gone and the locks are typical of a wagoneer. With the motor off they don't always all go up or down, sometimes one or two stick. With the motor running (a little extra voltage) they work perfect. The power windows all work including the tailgate from the dash or with the key, the passenger rear door window stuck down at the beach a couple months ago (with the door open) and after apologizing to the kids and everybody piling back in the car the window went up. Nobody opens rear door windows in Florida and that is why the power ones quit working I checked these and they went up and down. I also have a set of stainless steel window visors but never installed them and I bought a used rear air deflector but the woodgrain decal is faded and doesn't match the jeep so I never installed it. They can be bought separately or if the final bid goes over $6k I will include them. The cassette player didn't work for me when I bought it but the radio works like new and I replaced all 4 speakers. The cargo cover was already missing but I have not been able to find a burgundy one yet. The factory floor mats are still in it and look nice. It has the overhead console with storage for sunglasses and a garage remote.It is equipped with the compass and outside thermometer but that stopped working I think at the same time the Cruise quit but I cannot find a connection, Working Vanity mirrors and Cargo lighting. OK Cosmetics! I am tired of waxing this thing!! The paint is tired , it needs to be repainted to get back to a full shine. Even so "it get's more attention than a blond in a red Porsche" says my friend Joe after he ran some errands with me one day. The ONLY and I mean ONLY rust on the vehicle is two small spots half under the weatherstrip on the bottom of the driver side rear cargo window and 3 small scratches on the tailgate. I took pictures with it on a lift so you could see the underside is perfect, painted gray like the day it was shipped to Florida in '89. Grill is good, bumpers are good and the wood grain is very nice just one small spot ( like a dime cut in half) in drivers door which I touched up with artist paints. The Interior is in great condition. The front seats show a little use but no rips or tears, the armrest has a small split, the rear seats look new. The carpet and factory Jeep logo mats are nearly perfect the only bad spot is on the tailgate.The steering wheel should be re wrapped with a wheelskin or dyed. So look at the pictures, I took a lot. I have tried to represent this Wagoneer as truthfully as possible. I can't imagine spending $25k-$40k on a Websites refurbished Wagoneer when you could purchase this one and drive it as is or lavish money and attention on it and make it something truly yours!!.Please ask any questions you may have and I will answer them asap. On Sep-04-10 at 07:42:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: I had to use the Jeep to take my Daughter from nursing school to the high school Thursday and her friend put the passenger rear window down and now it won't go up. I have the window motor out and have ordered another one. I will have this fixed by Tuesday or Wednesday after the auction ends but I would rather have had it fail on me than right away on the new owner. I re-checked the driver rear and it works fine as do all other windows. ALSO the Autocheck suggests 4 owners...it is counting the Auction and the car lot I found it on. 2 OWNERS!!! We are very close to reserve!! and I see rusted out Wagoneers and Lifted , High Mileage examples selling for much more this week somebody is going to get a great deal on this one!!
