Very solid 5 window short bed chevy. Purchased in 2003 in Tucson, AZ and transported to Maryland. Has been in garage ever since. The stock engine was replaced with a 1953 inline 6-cylinder and was completely rebuilt. Original 4 speed manual transmission with low (granny gear). New radiator installed. Replaced wiring harness. Less than 5000 miles on rebuilt engine! The bed was replaced in late 70s. There is a ding in front passenger fender (pictured) from 2006. I also have replacement bumper for the front. It had body work and paint in late 70s, but there is obvious wear. There is no rust-through anywhere on the body--floor is solid. The title is clear, however the VIN plate was lost years ago. Currently registered in AZ until 2011. The engine runs perfectly and I have numerous spare parts, such as the original air cleaner. HOWEVER: The water pump gasket leaks a bit so I have not driven it much. The speedometer does not work (changed speedo cable), and there is some oxidation on the chrome grille (pictured). No heater or radio. Oak bed was replaced 20+ years ago and is showing some sings of deterioration. There is some significant rust in the rear bed stake pockets and the tailgate hinges are pretty rough as is the tailgate. This is a very solid truck considering its age and the fact that everything is stock and original. Email me with your questions prior to bidding. It is not a guarantee that you will be able to register and title the truck in your home state trouble free. When I bought the truck in 2003 there was no VIN plate. The old guy I bought it from did not know what happened to it. I have the previous title and the current title with same vin #. I may be incorrect, but I don't think it is uncommon for a 50+ year old vehicle to have missing or illegible VIN tag. I have seen blank plates for sale thru online parts dealers such as American Classic (http://www.americanclassic.com/asp/dyncatv2.asp?which=amclsall&p1=initial&p2=Emblems+and+Trim&iyear=1950&ytype=to&exyear=1953). You provide copy of title and they send you the blank tag. If you have any reservations regarding registering, I suggest you contact your state DMV to find out the exact process as I cannot be responsible. I had no trouble titling and registering the truck in AZ.
