Vehicle Detail
1965 FORD MUSTANG LOW RESERVE I have a Mustang that I have owned for over 14 years. It is Rangoon red with black standard interior. I drove it in the summer for the first two years; it went into the garage for storage that fall and stayed. It has been stored inside the entire time. It has never set outside in the time that I have owned it The car does have some rust in the typical areas. It is complete EXCEPT for the front sheet metal. I took it off to show the typical Mustang rust spots that were hidden behind them. I tossed them in the trash bin because both of the front fenders had rust in the lower corners. I put a slight bend the hood when I tried to close it and the hood springs were rusted. I checked and the price for replacements is so cheap that it didn’t make sense to repair them. It does have some rust around the front floor pan areas. The driver’s side needs its floor pan replaced. The passenger needs the front half of the pan replaced; the toe area is rusted there. There are some rust areas on the rear of the car that are in the pics. One of the wheel arches has some filler in it that is starting to pop slightly. I took pictures of all of the problem areas. There isn’t any rust around the front or rear windows and no rust anywhere around the trunk area. I never let things get stored on the car so the roof is perfect and dent free. The trunk has one small dent about the size of a quarter. The interior is complete and functional. The heater and vents work well. The radio area is original and uncut and still has its factory radio which works. The dash area is fine although the dash pad has a wrinkle in it. It has all of the original gauges which worked fine when it went into storage. But the interior does need to be redone. It has a 289 with an Edelbrock Performer 289 intake manifold on it. Other than that it is completely stock. The car was originally a 289 2bbl with a 3-speed manual. The carb and intake are the only things that have been altered on the car as far as I know. It does come with its original 2-bbl intake and carb. The engine is great shape. I went out and turned it over by hand at least once a month. I also oiled or fogged the cylinders each fall even though it was stored inside the entire time. Data Plate decoded Body: 65A 2-Door Hardtop (Std. Bucket seats) Color: J Rangoon Red Trim: 26 Black Vinyl Date: 18T June 30 DSO: 35 Jacksonville Axle: 6 2.80:1 ratio Trans: 1 3sp. Manual This car is very restorable. It just needs some TLC and a little time and this Mustang could be turned back into a gem. It would make a great father/son project. It could be finished and back on the road by this coming spring. I have tried to represent as correctly as I can and is as great of detail as possible. I need to sell this before I move, so I have set a LOW reserve price. Please ask questions before bidding, and ZERO feedback bidders must ask permission before bidding or your bid will be promptly cancelled. I am a serious seller and expect buyers to be responsible for their actions. If you bid and win, you will be expected to fulfill your contract of purchase. I am moving and do not have the time to relist this car. A winning bid is not an invitation to "inspect" before choosing to pay. I reserve the right to end this auction and sell locally at any time. The winning bidder must communicate his/her payment and vehicle pick-up intentions within 24 hours of auctions end. A deposit of $250 of the final winning bid is due and payable by PayPal only, within 48 hours of auctions end. The balance is due in full by cash or verifiable bank cashier's check and the bank check will have to clear my bank account prior to vehicle being loaded and/or picked up. Feel free to stop by and inspect the vehicle; please notify me before stopping by. And most importantly ASK QUESTIONS! Good Luck, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. On Aug-27-10 at 10:16:17 PDT, seller added the following information: The transmission is in the car and I do have the shift lever for it, the shifter and all of the linkage was never taken off the trans. The lever is just not attached right now. I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but in the interest of full disclosure, the at does need a trans crossmember and a right motor mount. Also the origional 2bbl carb and intake manifold go with the car in case anyone wants to put it back to origional. Please ask any and all questions, I will answer them the best that I can.
