Vehicle Detail

1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Model No. GL2557 4-Speed Gas. This is a one owner vehicle. The owner was a schoolteacher who took meticulous care of the van. I will post more photos and a video of the engine running. There is not any rust, dings or dents. The interior looks new and everything works. I will perform a compression test and post it on the auction. Tires, brakes, battery and shocks are fine. The exhaust has a small rust hole in the tail pipe but it sounds good. And you will be receiving all of the repair records. The clutch is the original and does not slip at all. The odometer reads 84,742 and the school teacher who again was meticulous said that it is 120,000. The odometer can be repaired for less than 100.00 from Overseas Speedometer repair, www.speedometer.com. They are a great company and I have had other repairs done there and have always been happy. The interior looks almost new. If you have any questions please email me. I will need a 200.00 deposit within 24 hours of the auction and the vehicle needs to be picked up or arrangements made within 7 days or a storage fee of 10.00 per day will be applied. On Aug-31-10 at 16:34:40 PDT, seller added the following information: The van has not been registered since 2001. In that time it was stored in a garage and then in the yard for 2 years. It is a very clean vehicle except for a few spots which I have taken photos of. Oil, transmission oil, antifreeze are being changed and the brakes are in very good condition. Tires are being replaced and the spare tire will match the other 4 and everything works. It is being driven to make sure that there are not any issues with the van. Currently I have 2 other Westys and would prefer not to sell this one because it is such good condition but I have too many vehicles and projects. The tail pipe, air filter, oil filter, plugs, cap and rotor are being replaced not that they needed it. On Sep-01-10 at 08:47:21 PDT, seller added the following information: The windshield has been removed and a new gasket is being installed as well as the rust. I removed some dash components so that I could reach the underneath side of the rust so that I could prep and coat the rust to prevent any further corrosion. Also I have another right rear bumper extension and that will be installed as well. On Sep-01-10 at 18:00:42 PDT, seller added the following information: The compression test was done and all cylinders are over 125 pounds. All the spark plugs were even, with no signs of excessive wear or deposits, and are Bosch platinum plugs. I also flushed the engine with Castrol 20/50 oil and 1 quart of Marvel Mystery oil and the oil that came out was extremely clean and there was almost no sediment. I then replaced the oil and a new filter with Castrol 20/50. I also changed the fuel filter, and both belts. The windshield will be reinstalled with a new gasket and the holes were prepped with the rust inhibitor and the holes were filled with liquid steel epoxy, primed and painted as well as the steep area for both front doors. I will not be able to post the finished results because you cannot add anything to the auction with 12 hours remaining which is when the work will be completed tomorrow. I have also installed a new battery, AM FM CD player and the brakes will be done tomorrow as well. If you still have questions please send an email with your phone number and I will give you a call. ThanksOn Sep-01-10 at 21:17:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Here is the video of the motor before the engine flush. The engine is much smoother after the engine flush and oil change. There is also a detectable note of a slight exhaust leak, which is going to be fixed. http://s163.photobucket.com/albums/t289/Bostonhotmail/?action=view¤t=VID00002-20100831-1816.mp4 Finally, a couple of information plate photos: On Sep-01-10 at 21:49:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Try this link for the engine video. The other one won't work.
