Vehicle Detail
We bought this chevy hoping to use it for antique car tours. We have done many tours in the past using either our 42 Chevy or our 57 Chevy Belair. For the last 3 years the Mrs (now 80) has not wanted to do another tour. I thought if we had an air conditioned car possible she would want to do another one. It didn't work, so I guess the Caprice is for sale. This is an upscale Caprice. Reading from the original bill of sales it has: Turbo-hydramatic transmission, Power steering, Radial tires, (now not the ones it came with), Power disk brakes, diagnostic terminal, HEI Ignition, full coil suspension, etc 6 way power seat, power door locks, tinted glass, power windows, power trunk opener, color keyed floor mats, body side molding. door edge guards, intermittant wipers, rear glass de-fogger, 4 season air conditioning, remote control drv mirror, visor vanity mirror. Cruise master speed control, 350 cid engine, turbo-hydramatic transmission, comfort tilt steering wheel, sport wheel covers, FR 78 15/B radial tires, AM FM stereo radio, bumper rub strips, Bumper guards, auxillery lighting, silver paint, vinyl roof cover, Fire spec Custom upholstery cloth. The car was repainted the original color about a year ago. The trim was removed and polished. New front door weather stripping was installed and is still new enough to make the doors harder to latch shut. The car has been kept under roof the entire time I have had it. The vinyl roof is original. The upholstery is nice original with no tears. I recently installed a new battery not knowing how old the other one was. I guess it is normal for these cars to idle fast until the engine warms up when first started. It runs good and I have done about every thing I could think of to make it reliable on the highway. The clock does not work. There are two cracks on the vinyl dash cover. Look at the photo of the dash. The car has current West Virginia inspection and is licensed for every day use. My phone # is 304-863-3597. The car is in Washington, WV. e-mail k8uc@suddenlink.net.
