We have a 1959 Rambler Ambassador Custom for auction. The condition of this car is good and it has been driven regularily. The car drives well and has recently completed several trips with a total distance of 1500 miles. In the last 2 years a lot of work has been done. New engine and transmission mounts have been installed. The torque tube trunion and rear transmission seal has been replaced. Both upper and lower control arm bushings and front gas shocks are new. The power steering assembly and power steering pump have also been replaced as well as the radiator hoses and gas tank fill hose. This car needs nothing to be driven. The car comes with the 327 V8 4 barrel engine and automatic transmission. The car rides on P225 75 R14 tires mounted on chrome wheels with wire inserts. The original wheels with wide white walls are also available if the buyer prefers the stock look. The body is very straight and rust free. All trim and chrome are NOS or rechromed with the exception of the rear bumper and top grill bars which are in fine shape. All glass is in good shape. The paint is Dupont Centari with clear hardener and is in good shape. There have been some modifications and replacements to the interior. The seats are from a 1989 Dodge Dynasty. The original style seats are included but need to be redone. An after market AC system is installed and is in working order. The dash, steering wheel, headliner and door panels are in good shape. The carpet is new. AM/FM Cassett stereo is installed in the dash but the original chrome dash panel and radio are included. There have been a few updates mechanically as well. The brake master cylinder/power booster is a newer version. The brakes have been improved with 1969 drums. The dual exhaust system is new and in great shape. The rear has air shocks to allow adjustment of ride height. The engine compartment and decals are correctly finished. The owner of this car is a longtime AMC enthusiast and is trimming his collection. He has restored many Ramblers over the years. He can supply refrences to serious bidders. This car won best of show in 2001 at the Metro Garden State AMCRC and AMO event. It has also showed very well at numerous East Coast events.
