Vehicle Detail

While its breaking my heart to do so, I'm finally parting with my very first new/nice car. I got her at the beginning of 1997 and have babied her ever since. Oil changes every 3000 miles without fail. If there was ever the HINT of something wrong, I got it fixed. She's only ever been serviced by two dealerships: Jim Falk Lexus of Beverly Hills and Keyes Lexus of Van Nuys. For any serious buyers, you are welcome to use the vin and call the dealerships to verify. The car has been in NO MAJOR accidents whatsoever. However, there have been minor incidents along the way (like someone backing into my parked car in a parking lot). My insurance is great, so in each case I had the car fixed at the dealership to assure it would be as pristine and up to Lexus standards as possible. The color is the best they ever had -- DARK EMERALD PEARL. Anyone who knows Lexus can attest to the quality and performance of their vehicles. Other than very minor issues here and there (washer spray tubes getting clogged, a dead window motor, etc.) this car has given me ZERO issues. And I'm a FREAK about having them look for ANYTHING wrong each time I bring it in for service. I actually bought the extended warrantee from Lexus originally which took me thru to the 100K mark. I bring this up only to say that I was not bashful about having them replace anything that even smelled like it might be wrong as it was under my warrantee. As you can see in one of the pics, I bought a new LX470 for my wife back in 2007. Clearly, I'm a fan of the car. But I also have a Prius and realize it's just time to let this old girl go. If you are local to Studio City CA, you are welcome to test drive the vehicle. If not, you are welcome to go thru ebay where they have a service that will inspect the vehicle for you. Also, there are a number of services that will ship the car if you're from out of state. (here's one I found thru google - http://ls45.aa-automovers.com/?gclid=CPuk7OKUxqMCFRpZiAodbHyeYA). I can honestly say, there is ZERO wrong with this car mechanically and only very minor imperfections here an there (I did my best to show them in the pictures). The A/C blows frigid air which is great since it's been a California car it's whole life. Also, there is ZERO rust. I'm a big ebayer and know this site only works if people are truthful in all accounts. You may not believe in Karma but I do. Check my feedback to see for yourself. I recently had all four brakes done and an oil change, and new tires, etc. Also, there were some gaskets showing wear and I had those replaced as well (again, you can verify any/all service with Keyes Lexus.) The Blue Book on this car for a private party sale spans from $9,070 to $10,750 for one in this condition. But that doesn't even take into account the options I added: WAAG Brush guards and PIAA fog lights ($1,000) A $2,000 Eclipse Nav system - with Sirius Traffic, Sirius radio, Bluetooth kit and ipod kit. New tires Reupholstered the front seats after they became worn I am starting the auction at $7500 which is $300 more than CarMax offered me. Oh, I also have the 3rd row seats but they are not installed. I took them out for more cargo space. However, they will go with the vehicle. I know it's corny, but ideally I'd like to see someone get this car who appreciates it. There's 122,000 miles on the car which equates to around 8500 miles/yr driving. But as anyone will tell you that knows, if you take care of these engines as I have, they will go 400,000 plus! Any other questions, please feel free to email/ask. Good luck bidding! On Aug-21-10 at 16:32:57 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had a lot of requests for larger pictures. That said, I took another 30 shots this afternoon and posted them to my private website. The web address is: http://gallery.me.com/mcforman/100791. username: lx450, password: lx450. Here you can see pretty detailed shots as I did my best to show any imperfections, which are very few. People keep sending me emails asking about the engine or the shape of the vehicle, etc. So, please let me be clear again. This car is in FANTASTIC shape. There is nothing wrong with it mechanically and only a couple of very minor asthetic imperfections -- two VERY slight dings (no rust and I dare YOU to see them -- but I can!) some very slight sealer pealing by the drivers side window and back window and a couple of minute scratches near impossible to see. Again, I took a total of 55 shots to allay anyones concerns/fears. I am happy to have you speak with the dealerships or have any professional inspect the vehicle prior to the auction ending. But perhaps the best thing I could tell you is that if my daughter were 16 instead of 4, I would have no problem giving this car to her and not worrying about it breaking down, etc. Can things still go wrong? Of course. Things have gone wrong with my wife's new LX. But as much as I have, I've babied this car. I can easily say that in the 14 years I've owned this car, I've done everything I was supposed to and more. In turn, I have one of the best LX450's still driving on the road today. If any of you still have concerns after all of the above, then make it easy on both of us and don't bid. This is a special car that someone is going to be thrilled to own. Good luck.On Aug-23-10 at 11:41:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Some people asked me about the cargo space and the back seats. I took the back seats out a year after getting the car for more cargo space. I wrapped them in large garbage bags and stored them in my garage. They've been sitting there along with my wife's rear seats ever since. Also, forgot to say a couple of other things - About 5-6 years ago, I got tired of constantly vacuuming the hair and cleaning the slobber from my dogs. So I had a custom cover made for the whole rear cargo along with back seats. This made clean up much easier. That cost me somewhere around $300 bucks and clearly, I'll keep it on the car. I've posted the additional pics on the above website address. Also, forgot to mention that the Nav system has a rear camera (which can actually be turned on while driving on the highway, etc.!) and I have a car cover that was made for the LX specifically. That will go with the vehicle as well. Hopefully, this should be the last post as I think that's EVERYTHING to share! Again, good luck.On Aug-24-10 at 19:01:14 PDT, seller added the following information: OK. Hopefully THIS will be the last post. I was asked (and realized I forgot to) post pics of the engine. They are now uploaded to the above website. As you can see, the engine is completely clean and has an essentially new Lexus 84 Month battery (installed in 4/09). The last thing I forgot to add is that there's Lojack on the car as well. Look, I know buying a car sight unseen can be a little nerve-wracking. However, that's why I furnished the vin and told everyone they were welcome to call my dealerships and check out my service records, etc. You need only check out my feedback to see the kind of seller I've been. I have ZERO desire to have someone welch on paying because they got nervous after winning the vehicle. I'm getting multiple offers to buy this truck outside of ebay. However, since I listed it here, I think it's only fair to let it go here. So, PLEASE, do us both a favor -- If you are still worried, then DO NOT BID. Thanks and good luck to everyone who is serious about the truck.
