Vehicle Detail
I am selling my very nice orginal condition Califorina titled CL 90. I bought this bike in Ventura CA. and added it to my collection nearly 15 years ago while living in Dana point CA. It was a 2 owner 1851 mile bike when I bought it. I rode it to the beach, 2-4 miles once or twice a week for a couple years before moving to Atlanta. Since then I take it out of our gameroom and ride to shows locally and around the block to keep her fit, probably 3-5 times a year with no problems. I currently have it dry storage (tank empty) no battery, indoors as shown in pictures. I can add fuel and run her for anyone who wishes, most collecters ask for bikes "storage ready" or dry as it is, so I'll give the new owner that option first. She has always runs top notch and smooth. New plug and tuned this spring, oil is kept fresh and changed every spring, trans, clutch, brakes, all work great. Very clean rust free frame with nearly perfect original black paint and factory Honda frame decals are inplace. Orginal black paint is on headlight body and side covers also. Seat cover and foam are original and very nice condition with nomal light wear 3 slight cracks in the middle 1 inch long. White seat piping has light normal yellowing for 43 years old with overall seat patina as it should be. Seat is still very very nice orginal condition and plyable to the touch, way too nice to replace is my point, no tears. Tank was creamed years ago for protection, petcock and carb were rebuilt with NOS parts also. I had a proffesional paint shop paint the tank this spring with the very hard to find $$$$ correct 67 honda silver. It looks perfect, base/with clear and much better than they came new from Honda. The tank has nice clear orginal 90cc emblems and perfect tank side rubbers on it, not reproductions. Forks and new boots were done as needed 2 years ago (normal cracking wear) very few miles on it since. Otherwise everything else, except the later style rearview mirror now removed, is as she came from Honda. The factory chain guard is missing, (avalible on e-bay). I belive a taller rear sprocket was added at one time and the guard was removed to fit a larger/taller sprocket for more top end. Rare options include the electric starter, chrome lower crash bar, and chrome rear rack. Foot rubbers, kickstart rubber, levers, handgrips and gear shifter rubber are orginal and are exactly what you would expect almost new 2000 mile bike, very nice. Chrome exhaust is in amazing orginal condition and has no blue/burn on it. Lights, speedo original horn, cables, brake lights etc. are all working and it's ready for a new owner who may wish to ride it regularly as I have in the past. As everyone is probably aware, light and I mean very light chrome pitting is normal for the orginal Jap. plating of this era. The chrome on this bike is consistent with a very lightly used well keep bike, so here is my disclaimer: Expect a very nice condition orginal very complete bike with light to normal wear of a 43 year old 2000 mile bike and you should be very excited with her. The Barber Motorsports museum asked to buy it at a show when I first moved to here if that helps you detemine the nature of the condition further, otherwise the pictures speak for themselves. There are no known problems at this time, but it is sold as is, where is, I will accomadate the new owner's shipping company or a pickup time at their convenince and help in anyway to make the transistion easy, just ask before owning on timing as I do travel a bit, but short term storage is not a problem. If the "Buy It now is used" I will include the orginal condition and very rare "unrestored" near mint condition 1966 CA. plate that would have come on a 1967 bike bought in late 66 and the every rarer to find matching registration tube. I have won shows just becuse the plate compliments the bike perfectly at bike rallies when I do show it. Again, as pictured the plate will only be included in a "Buy it now price." Thx and good luck bidding. On Aug-05-10 at 15:57:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Group answers to some of the many questions asked: Yes clear CA. title, 1 orginal Honda key and it does work the steering lock perfectly. Top end, probably low to mid 40s, maybe more if you wound it out, but I don't ride it like that, I cruise in the 28-30mph range around towns that I show it in, or at the bike rallies I go to. All the cables appear to be orginal, tires in are good condition to ride. Thx everyone for your interest. On Aug-08-10 at 11:37:47 PDT, seller added the following information: Thx again for the questions and comments. The only bike I'm currently looking for is a 1948-60s hummer unrestored or rough ok but ridable cond. thx dark blue, black or red.......no white, a 175cc would be great. On Aug-26-10 at 17:03:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to too many last minute e-mails on the last auction, please, if you need info. to make a decision on bidding before this auction ends please call my cell 949-322-5831 thx. west coast number, but I'm on east coast time, call before 9:00pm eastern thx. My last statement: This bike is high grade museum orginal condition, if you completly satisfied with the condtion when you see it in person at pickup in person. I will refund your money less any e-bays fees I'm charged for the auction. It will not be relisted as I have sold 2 other bikes to buy the new/old bike, thank you all for your interest.
