It started as a rust free 59 rambler wagon. stripped to bare metal and painted with 5 coats of ('95 GM) TORCH RED paint. Dupont chromabase #B9008K. And clearcoat. the paint is practically flawless (9.9 out of 10) and miles deep, glossy... looks like wet nailpolish. this paint job pops! All brightwork was removed and replated, or polished as needed. it is perfect. bumpers/ bumperets/tail light bezels/ headlight rings/ vent window wings/window latches/ window brackets/ vent wing locks/ vent wing handles/ parking light bezels/ grill emblem ring/ grill {fabricated from a stainless aftermarket F-150 grill}.... all replated to show quality! all stainless window trim was polished at same metal shop. reciepts from all work!!! All Glass is origninal Nash/ Rambler glass and is in perfect shape. no cracks. hazing de-laminating, etc. all window seals/ felts, etc were replaced with Steele Rubber Products materials. door window, windshield, rear slider windows, rear tailgate glass, seals were all replaced. Door rubber seals were all replaced with Soft-Seal moldings. after paint. everything was done the right way in the right order. Doors open and close great, and everything seals up perfect.. The tailgate is a "clam shell" type... opens perfect. Top tailgate lock mechanisim works great and locks in upright position as it should. bottom tailagte folds down perfect. Hinges, and tailgate handle/locking handles on the bottom portion work as they should. again, everything was painted before re-assembly.. looks factory ( nothing half- a$$ed). Front windows are electric . there is a drivers and passengers side switch on the drivers door panel and , of course, a passengers switch on the passengers door danel. all the windows go up and down perfectly from all switches. the electric window kit is from Waywire Wiring Harness Industries. very slick! The interior is beautiful. Everything was done by Galloway Auto Upholstery in Indy, Indiana. The seats are from a '99 Buick Century. It was a special edition Buick.. the leather is a "King Ranch" type baseball glove type leather (like the King Ranch Ford trucks). Both front seats are the 6 way power buckets out of the Buick. Comfortable and functional. great driving position. Both buckets are full 6 way power, and all motors, etc work perfectly. full articulation ! The rear fold down wagon seat is the original Rambler seat frame redone with the Buick leather. (essentailly the leather was deconstructed and sewn back together to fit the Rambler seat. new padding, etc. again.. PERFECT!.. looks like factory made. All leather is perfect.. no tears, rips, stains.. just perfect! New carpet, headliner, door panels, dash pad, etc was fabricated in Neutral tan to compliment the leather. Everything was fabricated and installed by Galloway Auto Upholstery. everything professionally done. The GM factory console houses an ashtray (unused), and 2 storage compartments, and 2 cupholders. The Console shifter is factory GM as well. The Gauges are a Dakota set up.. and everything works perfectly. all the gauges are functional, accurate, and all the interior lights, and dash gauge lights, etc work as they should. The wipers are 3 speed electric with intermittent function. It is a Specialty Shaft System.. tied into the Dakota dash set up. the motor is behind the passengers side kick panel. The HVAC system is a Vintage Auto Air "Monster Unit". Heat/ AC/ Defrost/ Variable fan speeds, etc. 134 system. The AC has been ice cold.. but geting a little weaker over the past month. It needs a charge.. but it works ice cold! all vents/ hoses, ducts, etc, are properly installed and functional! Stereo set up is an Alpine CD player with Pioneer speakers. It is a high end system with excellent sound. Power antenna works as it should! MECHANICALS: The engine/ chassis is from a 1997 Chevy S-10. It is a Vortec 4.3 L V 6 with a 4 speed 4L60E automatic transmission. The entire drivetrain from the truck was used. the rear end is 3.08.. The donor truck had under 48k miles when 'harvested'. The vin plate from the chassis is included with all the paperwork.. (but the car title, registration, vin plate, etc is the original 59 Rambler). All ancillaries (belts/ hoses, alternator, waterpumps, lines, etc) were replaced when the rig was built. New aluminum AFCO Radiator (25x8 high capacity) with in line transmission cooler. Electric fan on thermal switch. Wagon runs cool in all temps! does not oveheat New disc brakes up front. The front end was dropped using 2'' drop spindles from Bell Tech. Front end : bushings, tie rods, etc all rebuilt. New Billet Specialties Rims: (14 inch front/ 15 rear). new tires.. 1500 miles on them .. 205/75/14 front and 225/75/15- rear. Rims are perfect. knock off hub remover is with car. The little red wagon drives great. doesn not bottom out. the car starts right up. pulls out perfect. drives staright as can be.. all power steering/ power brakes work perfect. No overheating. no issues at all. this is a "turn key" car. it needs nothing but a new owner. I know buying a 'rod' can be a little sketchy.. who did what? how well was it done?, etc. All I can say is this is a professionally built car and I have all the reciepts, manuals, etc. the rod was built almost 10 years ago.. about 2k miles put on since done.. and it has performed flawlessly. I have no qualms with my wife driving.. or taking my kids out in this wagon. this is a safe, reliable, and FUN little machine! No headaches.. no excuses.. I sell with no apologies what so ever. This is not some shade tree mechanic experiment. It is done right! all lights, blinkers, hazards, etc al work just fine! If I were to keep it, the only thing i would do would change out the stereo to a Sirius unit. really.. nothing else is needed! You could not get the paint job and the chrome for the price I am asking . I honestly think this car is a 19k to 23 k car if in the right venue .. and if i had the time, and patience.. to sell it. I have it priced at a very fair (I think extemely underpriced) value.... (but that's my problem.. not yours!). I have it valued at what i would consider an acceptable loss in order to purchase my 'white whale' car without dipping into my family's finances, etc. That being said.. this is NOT a desparation sale.. so PLEASE.. no goofball low offers. My reserve is what I will sell the car for. It does not have to be sold. there is no 'baby on the way'... new house' ....lost my job...... off to Iraq' stories. Just a guy wanting to trade up. I have been on ebay for over 11 years.. i have 100 feedback. i have sold 3 cars and one truck and LOTS of parts (check my feedback). i take pride in not fluffing anything up. what you see is what you get.. and in most cases (if u read the feedback) most folks are think my 'things' are better than described. I am not a dealer.. not a curbstoner.. just a car guy trying to keep the hobby alive! If it were a perfect world.. i would not be selling this car. I really like it, and enjoy it.. but i guess i have to some fruition, or maturitiy, whatever... that you can only have and properly maintain so many cars.
