1977 BMW R60/7. 600cc, 5sp Touring model. I've owned this bike for 10 years. It was purchased in Manistee MI. As you can see, it says" touring " on the side cover. I've never seen another R60 with this on the side cover.If you know Beemers you know this is one of the most reliable engines BMW ever made. Its always been properly cared for with fluids changed regularly. Many parts have been replaced through the years as needed. THE GOOD: Bing carbs were replaced with Keihins before I got it. They work flawlessly. Barbacks were also on when purchased ( great riding position). All lights and signals work as they should. Aftermarket truck horn gets attention when needed!Valve covers replaced with "retro" /5 set. Krauser cases are in great condition. No cracks ,original straps, great working order,but no keys (easy to get).Luftmeister is in good shape with some unnoticeable fiberglass repair at the mounting brackets. I found the lowers on E-bay and the primer matched the paint so well, I never resprayed em. Original tire-pump,tool kit and owners manual. THE NOT SO GOOD:Slight stains on right tailpipe from battery acid.Slight tear in right seat bottom.Some scuffs on right chrome edging of the fairing. Trans. kinda clunks into gear, but I've been told "they all do" Sometimes I find a false neutral when downshifting. Could use a new rear tire and rear brake-shoes. Speedo and tach.are accurate but the odometer works when it feels like it(never bothered me). I will throw in a large Tourmaster case and tankbag that both fit the bike well. This old girl is not a "first in class" but is a very presentable and reliable classic Tourer. Reluctantly, I sell her, as I have fallen for an Italian Redhead.
