1965 Mercedes Benz 230SL (Pogada Roadster) Complete Car for Parts or Restoration This is a great 1965 Mercedes 230SL that would be great for ground-up restoration or parts. It is also the Euopean version with the glass one piece headlight cover, a 'Kinder seat' behind the passenger side and the odometer reads 16754 Kilometers instead of miles. It has two tops, canvas that is in good shape and a detachable hard top. The car will also come with the garage hoist as well as the rolling cart holder for the hard top. There are also extra parts: two sets of hub caps, the later ones that are in the photos and earlier ones that would have been orginal to the car when new. Two white steering wheels, two orginal radios and one gas can that sits inside the spare wheels rim that is inside the trunk. The car has been completely disassembled which will be easy to start restoration or parting out. All of the parts are inside the car's rolling body. The engine was pulled during disassembling but is now setting back inside the engine compartment. Paint/Body The paint is not orginal to Mercedes Benz or to this car but was done by one of the previous owners. It's orginal color is green that is evident in the photos of the dash. The body is solid and no sign of damage. There is rust to the inner wheel well panels and front end. Under carriage and trunk are good. Floor boards have been replaced by previous owners. Interior Interior is complete with orginal radio. Black 'Tex-Vinyl' is used for all the seat covers as well as the door panels. Carpeting has all been removed during disassembling. Chrome The chrome is in very good shape and is all complete except for the front fender center cap. All the chrome has been removed and wrapped in plastic. Glass All the glass is in good condition, no cracks or chips including both driver and passenger 'Goose Neck' rear view mirrors. Motor/Mechanicals The engine is not orginal as you can seen in the photo. I believe it is from a 220SE with a modified carburation. Engine has a blown valve and will need to be rebuilt or replaced.
