Vehicle Detail
This 1953 Buick was a one family owner before me. It was sold new in Sacramento, CA and has spent its life there. The car is currently registered, clear title and drivable. Before my purchase the car had only been driven a few miles since the early 1990's. And from 1978-1994 only had about 3k miles added to it. The car still operates off its original foot starter. It starts right up, idles a little rough until the choke kicks off, then smoothes out once warmed. Is running a bit rich but I will adress this this week when I install the vacuum advance.I recently went through the fuel system and had the original fuel/vacuum pump rebuilt. The oil pressure is strong and the car does not smoke. I have on order a new vacuum advance because the original was tired. It is an oem part and will be installed by time of sale. New battery (correct original group), new points, condenser, cap, plugs and wires. Low mile matching Goodyears with 1.5" WW. This car is the first year for the Buick 322 Nailhead V-8 with 170 hp. This car has the optional Dynaflow Automatic transmission. The transmission shifts smoothly and pulls good with no noticeable trouble at all. This Buick has original working power steering and brakes! Nearly all electrical is working, lights , gauges, horn, trunk light, dome etc.. Only things not working are the wipers (vacuum lines need replaced) and the clock. The original wiring in the car is in excellent shape and appears new in many places. This car spent its whole life garaged and it shows. Places like up under the dash look new still, as does the trunk. As for the body I would say it is excellent for an unrestored car. It has had one repaint in the 70's in the original color. The car was originally all red and the white top was added later and still looks very good. There is nowhere on the car that looks to have ever been repaired or replaced. I have detailed pictures of the chassis, body panels, under car etc.. The rockers, trunk, quarter panels are all rust free completely (and I have showed them in photos). One spot to note is about a 4 inch section of the driver floorboard and I have it photographed as well. Nothing hiding on this one. The interior is original and clean. The original dash paint, gauges etc look awesome. The seats are tired and have a few patches, headliner looks good but has discolored a bit. Front mat is perfect and rear carpets are nice, door panels still look great but could use work on the arm rests. Has all 4 original hubcaps, spare and jack in the trunk. Matching black CA plates. Please ask questions before bidding. Great candidate for an easy restoration or drive as is. I will assist your shipper in loading and will make myself available anytime. Let me know if you would like to see the car in person before bidding. I can ship to Oakland($200) or Long Beach($300) for oversees bidders.
