Vehicle Detail

Looking for a nice little sports car that you can actually drive around while restoring it? Better still, how about one that carries one of the elite automotive brand names, and is a targa top! Look no further! Here is a cool 1974 Porsche 914 that you can enjoy cruising in while putting on the finishing touches! This 914 is powered by a 1800cc boxer four engine that starts right up and runs and sounds good. Power is put down to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission that shifts well. It does not grind, nor does it pop out of any gear. This car is a blast to drive down your favorite backroads, and it gets great gas mileage! The brakes have plenty of life left in them, as does the clutch. The interior of the car is in overall good shape. The carpet looks good, and the seats are well off with only a couple minor rips on the sides seen in the photos. The front of the dash looks nice, but the top pad does have some cracks (also seen in the pics). The tape player works, but there is only one speaker on the passenger side hooked up. Rust is not an issue on the floor pans. The targa top storage area does have some rust, as does the battery box like seemingly all 914's. Rust inhibitor has been used, so it should not spread. The passenger side door does not open from the outside. The handle feels tight, so I am assuming something just isn't connected. The exterior still has the original red paint, and it is all there. This being said, the clear coat is coming off in multiple areas, and would require a respray if you were going to restore it. The car is pretty straight, but does have a dent on the driver side door and on the passenger side rear end. I still get plenty of thumbs up gestures while driving it though! The glass is good, but could use new weatherstripping rubber around it. The headlights turn on and off, but are stuck in the open position. The top is in good shape, and comes off easily. So there you have it. Don't let your chance to pick up a great little Porsche for a low price pass you by! But please remember, even though this 914 is in good shape overall, it is a great driver, not a show car. The new owner will be very happy with his or her new old car, and all bidders will be very happy because this is a no reserve auction! Now for the boring, yet necessary part. I reserve the right to end this auction early due to it being advertised locally. The odometer reading may change slightly from being test driven. Please do not bid on the 914 if you do not have the funds readily available to purchase it. You may come and inspect the Porsche before the auction ends. Transportation is the buyers responsibility, but I will help in coordinating it as much as possible. I will answer all questions as quickly as I can. Thanks, and happy bidding!
