Vehicle Detail

I have owned this van for 3 years and need to sell purely due to financial need. The car is in working order, and I just recently had a transmission installed. Since then, it has only been driven from the mechanic to my house in Boulder. There is some rusting on the body, but very minor. I've worked on it religiously since I have owned it. I fixed it up out of my father's garage where is sat unused for years. I installed a bamboo hardwood floor, so the middle bench is removed. It is in Pennsylvania and I could arrange to have the bench shipped at the buyer's expense if it were desired. The biggest trouble with the vehicle is an oil leak from the pushrod tubes, which I haven't had the money to fix, but it is an extremely easy job. There is no crack or damage to the engine block itself, it is just the tubes that the pushrods are sent to from the engine just under the cylinder heads. I have already replaced two of them, but the other 6 are most likely all leaking. Idle's a bit rough and has trouble on hills. Gaskets on the head caps were replaced 1,000 miles ago, and rusted coolant pipes and hoses have been removed and replaced. The alternator and starter are also brand new. I've done a ton of little jobs, i.e. replacing the thermostat, spark plugs, brand new battery, etc. The vehicle is perfect as a weekender and project car as long as it is regularly taken care of, which you could say of any 26 year old car. Its perfect for the ever-popular engine swap as it is a simple machine to work on. The bay can fit a diesel engine as well (from a '93 Jetta, 1.9L I believe), so it has the potential for veggie oil fuel. I love this car, and it pains me to sell it, but as a student I just can't afford the maintenance and upkeep that such a vehicle requires. Its a car to have fun with and be creative with, and I'd like to sell to someone with just those intentions. I have put far more money into the thing than I plan on getting back, but such is the nature of an 80s Vanagon. Don't hesitate to contact me through eBay with any questions. I would obviously prefer that the car be picked up if purchased, but if you can arrange for it to be shipped I would be alright with that as well, though I cannot cover any such costs. Good luck on the auction!
