Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 83 Rabbit GTI ITB car to fund my newly aquired Pontiac Trans Am. It has 69997 original miles on it. Body is straight as an arrow and solid as a rock. The engine and gearbox was rebuilt (400 miles ago) (few years ago). Interior is bare metal, all sound deadening material removed, full roll cage (not just a roll bar). Great Corbeau race seat, Tokico fully adjustable on all corners, brand new Quarter Master race clutch, front and rear strut tower braces, rear brace was custom made, stainless exhaust system, Fittipaldi Personal race steering wheel and hub, 15 inch BBS like mesh wheels with brand new BFGoodrich G-Sport Tires, brand new G Force 5 point harness and harness bar, Momo pedals, Momo shift knob, very rare Zender rear wing, Transatlantic racing hood pins, roll bar padding, brand new front and rear brakes, rotors and pads, brand new wheel bearings. Brand new fuel pump, fuel tank steam clean (car was sitting indoors in my shop for a couple of years and driven intermittently) brand new ignition switch. Mobil 1 15W-50 oil change 100 miles ago. Redline gear oil. Neuspeed Intake. I have never taken the car to autocross and simply no longer have the time to even consider it. THE CAR IS STREET LEGAL AND YOU CAN DRIVE IT HOME. All the lights work great. The wipers and heat are completely functional. This car has some interesting history, has been a race car for at least 20 years, has seen some un-documented SCCA and HSR touring, club races, ITB and autocross, but no log book came with the car to me. It does have a 1998 SCCA rulebook with it. Runs and drives like a champion and is very reliable and very cheap to fix! You can autocross, track event, SCCA Club race or anything with this car. With a little work and a fuel cell, you can run any class you want, including vintage. Previous owner's wife threw out almost ALL records and receipts to this car, but you can clearly see how nice the car is. Once you drive the car, you will want it. It handles amazing, and is VERY fast, revs like crazy and is the fastest naturally aspirated MK1 GTI I have ever driven. The car has some dings on the roof and hood from hail before the start of a race years ago. Car is stored inside my shop full time. The dash is mint. It has been indoors its whole life. It is street legal. Car is for sale locally, I have to right to end auction early if she sells here. Here is your chance to buy a real race car for cheap! Buyer is responsible for shipping! Car can be placed on a U Haul trailer and brought home or driven home. Perspective buyers are welcome to come and inspect the car BEFORE the auction ends at your own cost. Just e-mail me via ebay to make arrangements. Shipping is at the buyer's cost. $500 deposit must be made within 24hrs. No exceptions. The car is located near Greenville SC. 1hr 30 mins from Charlotte or 2hrs from Atlanta. My feedback speaks for itself. Good luck!!!
