Up for sale is a '98 Chevy 8 Passenger / Cargo Van. It has very low miles for a '98, only 93K. This van was purchased on eBay in Jan. 2009 for $3050. Since then we have driven it as a family vehicle and only had one major repair. In Nov. '09 we put in a rebuilt transmission for approx $1500. We also bought 5 tires (spare is new) in April of 2009, and have driven 15K on the new tires. So, all together, we have put approx. $5000 into this vehicle in the last two years ($3050 + $1500 + $450). The van starts immediately, runs great, accelerates well, stops smartly, and everything is in working order. The A/C is front only and blows cold. The only known problems with this van are cosmetic. The side door has a hinge that is partly broken as you can see in the picture. The door still opens and closes fine, but it must be slammed to shut fully. There are also a few rust spots near the bottom of the body in the typical places.Our family has gotten along great in this van with six children, but we had to upgrade when our seventh was born this summer. This van has seat-belts for only 8 passengers (Driver, front passenger, 1st & 2nd couch rows). Two couch seats have been replaced, therefore the upholstery doesn't match. The 3rd row seat can be put in, but it does not have shoulder seat belts. The windows and door locks are all manual, so you don't have to worry about them not working because the van is an "older" vehicle. This van originally came equipped with rear air but a previous owner had it disconnected, and it potentially could be fixed for little expense (blower works and coolant lines are present but disconnected). Rear heater does work in the winter.The gas tank is approx. 24 gallons, and we typically get 15-18 mpg in this vehicle.The van can be picked up locally or shipped at the cost and arrangement of the buyer.
