Vehicle Detail

THIS IS A GREAT 560SEC: AND NOT JUST BECAUSE IT'S EXCELLENT INSIDE AND OUT, ONLY 62,xxx ORIGINAL MILES, A STRIKING COLOR COMBINATION, AND DRIVES LIKE A DREAM. THERE'S ANOTHER REASON, AND IT’S THE BEST REASON TO OWN THIS CAR; IT HAS NEARLY THREE HUNDRED HORSEPOWER (!!!) AND IS IN FULL EURO SPECIFICATION (BUT 50-STATE LEGAL), SO IT RUNS LIKE THE ENGINEERS AT MERCEDES INTENDED. AND THAT MEANS IT WILL BLOW ANY OTHER W126 (AND ALMOST ANY OTHER CAR) YOU’VE EVER DRIVEN INTO THE WEEDS. YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY THE 560SEC RULED THE AUTOBAHN FOR NEARLY A DECADE? TAKE A DRIVE IN THIS CAR. THE PULL FROM 80MPH AND UP IS UNREAL, AND YOU JUST CAN’T HELP SMILING AS EVERYTHING FADES INTO THE REARVIEW MIRROR. -- Here is your next car my friend -- PLEASE LET ME STOP YOU NOW IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BARGAIN 560SEC ON EBAY. THIS IS A CAR ONLY FOR A BENZ COLLECTOR, AN ENTHUSIAST THAT CAN APPRECIATE THE DETAILS DESCRIBED BELOW. WITH THESE CARS, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. THERE ARE BEATER SEC'S, NICE SEC'S, VERY NICE ONES, AND EXCELLENT ONES WITH SOME SPECIAL QUALITIES. THIS ONE FALLS INTO THE LAST CATEGORY. IT LOOKS GREAT, AND IN TERMS OF OPERATING CONDITION, THIS CAR IS EXTREMELY WELL KEPT. THIS CAR WILL DESTROY ALL OTHER US-SPEC 560SEC’S ON THE ROAD FOR SPEED AND POWER, NO MATTER HOW WELL THEY RUN. Here's the deal: -- This is a 1991 560SEC coupe in 199 charcoal metallic with black leather interior and matching black carpets. Only 62,xxx original miles, and has been fully serviced. This car lived nearly its entire life in Japan, where winters are mild, and inspections are stringent, allowing only highly maintained cars on the road. IMPORTANT: The actual VIN# of this car is WDB1260451A576605. Ebay will not allow a seller to enter a European VIN#, even if the car is US-compliant like this one. -- -- Exterior 9 out of 10 (I'm finicky) - Great overall condition paint, body, glass, and trim. Few if any dings, scuffs, or scratches. She looks amazing, with a deep glossy shine to her metallic paint. This car looks great even under florescent lights in a garage. Simply great condition for being 19 years old. -- -- Even the bumpers looks nice. The lower side-body moldings are clean and shiny. Undercarriage looks good as well. Glass is all great. -- -- The body panels are nice and straight as they should be. -- -- Factory alloy wheels are in very good condition, and are true with no shimmy. This car wears four very good (75%+ tread remaining) matching Michelin Primacy touring tires, which are a great combination of ride quality and handling. -- -- Interior 9.5 out of 10 - The interior overall including all seating and door leather, headliner, seat padding, dash, console, and carpets are in great condition. No dash cracks, carpet rips, hardly any wear on the leather anywhere. The seats look and feel new. Radio and power antenna work fine, but I would replace the radio (and I will at the BIN price) with something that looks more period-correct.The carpets are spotless like everything else. For a 19 year old car, it's beyond excellent inside. -- -- No delamination to the rear window which is common on these cars….glass is clear. -- -- Doors and headliner are also great -- -- Even the trunk and spare are excellent. The jack is unused, and the original tool roll and first-aid kit are intact. -- -- Electrical 10 out of 10 - All lights, switches, radio, windows, wipers, seat motors/memory, and power mirror work perfectly. Nothing is amiss, including headrest motors, seat heaters, & vacuum lock system. -- -- Even both seat belt presenters work perfectly! -- -- Now we get to what makes this car better than all the other US-spec SEC’s on ebay or anywhere else. Something that only a true enthusiast will appreciate; it has all the great European-spec equipment that us poor US buyers could never get! All-conquering 290HP Euro engine? Check! Bosch high-quality glass reflector H4 headlights with in-car vacuum aiming control? Check! European “shorty” bumpers for less overhang front and rear? Check! Firmer Euro suspension components for better ride/handling compromise? Check again! Sport/economy transmission selector switch? Bingo! It’s all here folks, and it completely transforms the personality of the car from highway cruiser to autobahn gunship. It really does make a HUGE difference, and the best part is, it’s only there when you want to take advantage of it. Under normal driving, this car is safe, solid, smooth, and quiet just like a stock US 560SEC. But floor it, or bend into a high-speed exit ramp, and I promise you’ll be all smiles as the true German personality of this car shines through. -- -- Mechanical 10 out of 10 - Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth and downshifts eagerly. It even has the "glide into reverse" feature that you usually only feel with new W126 transmissions....no abrupt engagement, just a silky smooth move to reverse. It runs at triple-digit speeds with no vibrations or noises. There are no leaks of any kind. Recent services include complete tune-up (plugs, cap, rotor, wires, air/fuel/oil filters), catalytic converter, O2 sensors, engine drive belts, front brake pads, and more! Some extra parts are also included with the sale. -- -- Look not only at the mileage, but at the color of the instrument needles. Bright orange with no fade. -- -- This car got treated to a $5000 conversion to US specifications by an EPA/DOT registered importer in southern California, from whom I have bought six W26 cars in the past. Anything mechanical not up to spec was replaced, as to fail a test and pay for a re-test is VERY expensive. So it got a complete tune-up, all new emissions equipment, and was made to conform to US safety standards for ALL FIFTY STATES and then released as “approved for the road” by the US Department of Transportation and the Environmental Protection Agency. No fooling around here, no grey market imports. This car is on file with DOT and NHTSA, and you can call and check. For example, instead of just tacking on ugly US bumpers, the sleek Euro bumpers were reinforced from behind…so you get safety AND great looks! -- -- Engine is strong and VERY eager to run, transmission smooth and ready to drop down two gears at your command to rocket you past slower traffic. Brakes are solid and pedal feel is firm. Suspension is tight, steering nicely weighted with no play in the rack, and alignment (including thrust angle for steering wheel centering) perfect. ZERO leaks or noises. This car drives and handles not only like new, but like a sports car! OEM alloys wheels in great condition, and all four were balanced and rotated less than a week ago. -- -- This cars comes complete with two MB keys, and most importantly, thorough pre-purchase and pre-sale inspections. With both inspections, all that was needed was an oil change, front tie-rod ends, new fuses, and front brake pads (actually they were not worn down, they just did not have enough feel or stopping power for my taste). Mechanical condition is great. Best of all, the emissions systems are all very recent, so you won’t be replacing a 19 year old catalytic converter in a few months. -- -- This car does not have any rear suspension issues common to W126 cars, no trunk leak, no dead antenna, no valve cover gasket leaks, NO HEAD GASKET LEAKS, no vacuum lock issues....nothing! Everything is in great shape, and at 62K miles, it's not even broken in yet! -- If someone selects the buy-it-now option, I’ll include a full $200 detailing including engine bay, carpet shampoo, leather conditioning, orbital polishing, etc. I'll apply Toughguard protectant to the paint, which you have to see to believe. It will bead water, seal, and UV protect the paint for up to FIVE YEARS, GUARANTEED....no future waxing necessary. I know it sounds like a B.S. late-night TV claim, but it's not; dealers charge $695 and up for this stuff, and it really works. I will also include four new black OEM Mercedes floor mats, and Mercedes OEM touch-up paint. Total value for everything included with the buy-it-now price is over $600. -- -- Nits: Some minor scratches/touch-up spots, some stress cracks to the shifter wood laquer, some oxidation to the chrome window trim, and that’s about it. Nothing else of significance. And if I did not mention those items, it's unlikely anyone would even notice...I just want to be up front and honest. Also, the correct VIN# is WDB1260451A576605. Ebay does not allow Euro VIN#s.-- -- I have good feedback, and have sold dozens of W126 Mercedes that their new owners are thrilled with. They have offered to act as references to verify that I am honest in my descriptions of the cars I sell, and you are welcome to contact them. -- THIS IS A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME CAR, AND IT'S AN UNBELIEVABLE DEAL!! If you have questions, please call Bruce at 856-912-2600 or email me in advance. Winning bidder must send a $2000 deposit via wire transfer or bank/cashier’s check within 48 hours, and pay the balance within five additional days. Car and paperwork are ready to be delivered when funds are clear in my account. Title may lag by a few days, but I provide a temporary tag to drive on until it arrives. There is a $199 documentation/FedEx/title transfer fee on ALL cars. Car is sold as-is, where-is, and there are no warranties expressed or implied, exclusive of what ebay may offer to the buyer. Please have any financing lined up BEFORE you bid. Please check my feedback: I do not play games, and I have sold items on ebay for more than the value of this one. No negative or hidden feedback buyers please, and I reserve the right to verify and/or cancel bids that come from users with poor/low/no feedback ratings. Good luck and happy bidding!
