Vehicle Detail

1972 International Harvester Scout II I know the history of this scout for the last 16 years. It has been in the family. It has: Front AND Rear Dana 44’s with ARB air lockers 3:73 gears well maintained with royal purple fluid. These axles are worth 5K alone The front Dana 44 has disc brakes and is off of a 78 Scout II I have recently replaced all wheel bearings front and rear axle bearings as well. Newer brakes all the way around w/ only about 500 miles on them Lifted and Un-cut 33x12.5x15 Big O mud tires good for about 5,000 more miles. There are some cuts on a couple of the tires. this came from the scout being uncut and doing serious off roading. the solution for this is ihonlynorth.com has a reverse shakle kit for the front. $250.00 and some welding if you are going rock crawling (and I hope you are with this capable rig) you'll want to do this conversion before putting new tires. Also some of the old bushings are worn. They need to be replaced but it's still 100 % capable to go wherever. The interior has Recaro style seats up front and the fold up original seat in back. All upholstered to match. Black Tuffy security console with Sony marine grade CD player w/ Aux input for I-pod It has Kicker 6x9s in the back w a sony amp and kicker 6.5s up front (plenty loud to be heard with the top off) Grant removeable steering wheel with lock Fully welded sport style roll cage with low door bars. Bikini top/ full hard top All glass is good and windows work 345V8 2 barrel/ 727 Torqeflite---The trans was rebuilt a few thousand miles before I got it and it shifts perfectly. Power steering /power brakes Front passenger compartment is raptor lined as is the hard top. The rear compartment has not been lined yet but it does have a heavy rubber mat on the floor. I also have the interior side panels for the top and original door panels Runs strong The wife and I drove it to Seattle a couple of years ago. No problems. It will climb like you wouldn’t believe. Go till you can’t then lock in the rear, slow again and lock in the front. If you can’t make it with the front and rear locked in you probably shouldn’t be there. I've had this scout at 12,000 feet over night at 20 degrees and it started right up and the heater got it nice and toasty inside. I drive it around the New Mexico desert on a regular basis and it runs fine here too. 345 V8's are built like tractor motors. solid. They have some quirks but parts are readily available and not any more costly than Chevy parts. I would say that you could probably drive this thing anywhere if you brought some tools and some know how just incase. It is an older rig. Bring gas money too. All the gauges work, turn signals have a short in them that I haven't been able to locate yet. Just blowing the fuse on em. The gas gauge reads 1/4 tank when it's really close to empty. I have the interior pieces for the factory AC but the compressor is not in the engine compartment. There is some rust in the rockers and lower front of the rear quarters. Also in the interior where the fuel neck is. Other than that it's a solid rig. There is a way to replace the oem rockers with a chamfered piece of 2x2 square tubing and it'll turn them into real "ROCK"ers I don't think there is any Bondo on it at all. I slid into a tree once and crunched the front fender. I metal finished it w NO filler and it looks fine. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I have sold vehicles on ebay before and will assist as much as possible. Seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time as it is for sale locally as well. I requiere a $1500.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of end of auction. Balance within 5 working days after auction close. I know this rig inside and out. If you have any questions please don't hesitate.
