Gorgeous restoration of a 1966 classic, considered by many the most beautiful car Mercedes produced. Burgundy leather interior, mats, and woodwork brought to show car perfection. Leather on driver’s door is all that is original, probably left for comparison. Most of the restoration completed in 2002, with less than 500 road miles on the car since. Maintained in a climate controlled and dehumidified garage, never driven in bad weather. The new top fits beautifully. This car is for turning heads while taking Mama for a ride on a Sunday afternoon. Exterior: small dent on left rear bumper (see photo), minor chrome imperfections on both bumpers. The body is rust free. The luminous pearl paint has minor imperfections, noticeable when waxing the car but not on casual inspection. If you plan to drive the car there will be no need to touch the bumpers or paint. If instead you want a show car that you will not drive, you probably would rechrome the bumpers . The trunk has not been restored, but is clean. Mechanical: Straight six. The restoration included rebuilt transmission, rewiring, new radiator and AC compressor. Drives great. AC works as well as any 1966 unit ever did. Original radio in dash, but a new tuner/CD player installed in the glove box. Exact mileage is unkown.
