Vehicle Detail
1993 BMW 850 Ci, Black / Black, Auto Trans, The Estate of Philip Sands Martin is selling a 1993 BMW 850 Ci. The Dependent Administrator did not know the Decedent prior to his death. Therefore, the Administrator does not know the history or condition of the vehicle. The vehicle is being sold "as-is." Accordingly, if you would like to schedule an appointment to see the vehicle, please call my office to schedule an appointment. Since this is a probate sale, the Administrator can only accept cash for the sale. There are too many bogus check scams and therefore we cannot accept any checks, certified or otherwise. Michael A. Duran Dependent Administrator of the Estate of Philip Sands Martin The Duran Firm, PLLC www duranfirm com 214.227.6400 On Jul-06-10 at 18:25:03 PDT, seller added the following information: If you would like to schedule a time to inspect the vehicle, please call me. I can meet you any evening and all weekend. On Jul-08-10 at 12:48:35 PDT, seller added the following information:If you would like to see the vehicle, I am meeting another potential buyer on Friday afternoon. Please call me if you would like the address and the time. Michael Duran 214.227.6400On Jul-30-10 at 10:19:42 PDT, seller added the following information:I did not know Philip Sands Martin, but I am told he was full of life prior to being diagnosed with a brain tumor in March of 2009. He fought bravely for 8 months before succumbing in November 2009. He was approximately 65 years old. With 12 cylinders, I think the car seems to suit his spirit. After his death, his surviving spouse drove the car until I took possession of the car approximately two months ago. When I drove the car home, it drove well. I start the car regularly and it starts right up. It does have an oil leak that will have to be repaired. I believe the car was last serviced at Kwik Kar in Valley Ranch. The registration tags expired in April. This car is a deal and as Road & Track so aptly put it “one of the few true collector cars from the 90’s”. The big coupe’s “sex-on-wheels” presence, plus the manly-man drive train, overcame rational thought for many who ponied-up over one hundred thousand dollars in 1993.On Jul-31-10 at 08:16:26 PDT, seller added the following information:Potential buyers have asked if a certified check or a wire transfer is acceptable. In this life, we must pay for the sins of others and the same is true with this transaction. One need only go to one's mail box and look at all of the "certified checks" from the Australian Lottery to know that there is no way to know a real certified check from a bogus one. The checks will deposit ok, but after a month or so, the check is returned unpaid and your bank promptly withdraws the funds from your account. As Administrator of the Estate, I have a fiduciary duty to the heirs of the Estate and therefore I cannot risk giving away a car because I accepted a bad check. Wire transfers are also unacceptable as I would have to provide routing and account numbers. Finally, the court order authorizing me to sell the car says to sell it for cash. A potential buyer should be reassured that they have an easy venue to raise any complaints as the Dallas County Probate Court is supervising this Estate. Look it up at dallascounty org. The case number is PR-09-03894-3. A careful review of the docket shows that the Court authorized me to sell the car on June 24, 2010. So yes, this sale is legitimate. You are just going to have to forgive me for being so cautious.
