1973 SAAB 96 V4 with FACTORY A/C I bought this SAAB in 1998 from Florida. It is in very good mechanical condition. I put thousands into it ten years ago. New interior, tires, calipers, rotors, shoes, wheel cylinders, drums, exhaust, weber upgraded carb with manual choke, A/C hoses and condenser, on and on. New window felts, weather stripping all around. Black sound insulation on the fender wells. That’s why the fender wells are not white in the photos of the engine compartment. This car runs and drives beautifully. One finger on the steering wheel at 50 mph. Everything works. Even the back-up lights. Not the clock or radio though. I have spares that might. Brakes straight and crisp. It was repainted the same color long ago before I got it. Not bad. The floor had the usual rust holes in left and right front corners, but was also cut out and replaced before I got it. A little existing rust directly under the rear windshield (strange). A couple small surface spots elsewhere and some paint flaking under front and rear bumpers due to improper prep before painting. The A/C blows cold but loses the charge in a day or so. Needs a seal on the compressor crankshaft. Please call and ask any question and I will be glad to help. I do not want anyone disappointed after buying it. (706) 249-6278. Doug. My wife wants to keep it!On Jul-16-10 at 12:25:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Twelve years ago I put a piece of electrical tape over the rust under the rear window. Today someone asked for more pictures of the rust. When I peeled the tape off to take pictures, some of the paint came with it making it look worse than it really is. Such is life. All of the rust spots are exactly as they were when I bought it. It has not increased all at.
