Vehicle Detail
This bike was running great until about two weeks ago. The engine was swapped in from a 1982 Magna with about 20,000 miles on it. I was taking it on rides up to 100 miles with no problems, except the turn signals never worked right. I let it sit for about 4 days when I had to work, and when I restarted it, it was difficult to start and ran poorly. It makes a noise like the cam chain is loose. I can hear it slapping when I rev the engine. It does run, but it's very hard to start and runs poorly. Until this happened, it did not knock and used very little oil. I think the cam chain and/or tensioner needs to be replaced and the cam timing reset. I have acquired a new Suzuki C50, so I don't really have the motivation to fix this one anymore. The clutch works well, and it shifts through all the gears with no problems. All electrical parts work except the turn signals. It does have a manual toggle switch for the cooling fan. The tires are new. The brakes work well. The carbs were cleaned recently and were working well. The black paint was done with spray cans. It looks pretty good from 10 feet away, but it is what it is. It would look a lot better if it was buffed out and clear coated. The exhaust system is in good shape, although it's a little louder than I like. There is also a second, nearly complete parts bike, which I will include for free (same price I paid for it.) There is no title with the parts bike, but I will gladly make you a bill of sale for it. The person who gave it to me told me the engine was good. The ignition system and fuel pump are missing, so I cannot verify that. The seat, front brake calipers, and side covers are also missing from the parts bike. Also included are two service manuals, one Honda and one Clymer. There are also two spare engines. These would need to be rebuilt, but have lots of good parts in them. One of them has a known good clutch and stator. There is also a box of miscellaneous parts, nuts and bolts, etc. that goes with it. I am confident that with all these parts, someone could make at least one and maybe two good motorcycles. That's what I was planning on, but now I am too busy working and riding my new Suzuki to fool with this one. I'm not looking to get rich off of this, as I have far more time and money invested than the bike is worth. If I can get enough out of it to get some bags and a windshield for my new ride, then we'll both be happy. Good luck bidding.
