1971 MGB ROADSTER! Enjoy cruising the open road this summer, in this CLEAN and ready to roll British Classic! This is a clean, rust-free 1971 MGB in striking Olde English White! Have you been looking at B's and have youi been disappointed by the sort of hidden confession of “rust in the rockers” or “rust in the usual places”? Most are aware that the value of the little gems in today’s market lies largely in the condition of the body. As such, you should rest assured that this car has been stripped down to the metal and carefully resprayed in Old English White, again, over a rust free chassis. The previous owner, who has worked on MG’s for 30 years and has owned 37, restored the car about 3 years ago at which time any “suspect” metal was replaced. Since then I have augmented the beauty of this MG by adding missing and hard to source parts, enhancing the electrics and thus making it even more reliable than original. I have always had the car garaged and covered, and I have never driven it in the rain or if the streets were wet. It is in very nice mechanical and cosmetic condition. Review the photos, especially the undercarriage and engine bay, to see how solid and clean this car is. Some of the highlights are as follows: The engine starts easily every time, and idles nicely. She runs “cool”, even in these hot NC summers. The distributor was professionally rebuilt and recurved in 2008 by a noted professional shop and is powered by a Pertronix electronic ignition module. All electricals work including the head and tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, horn, license plate light, trunk light, interior courtesy light, wipers, windshield washer motor, and fan motor. (How many British cars can make that claim?) Nicely detailed and clean engine compartment with all lines and hoses properly routed. Clean enough to almost eat off of. Nitryl rubber hood liner with MG logo. All instruments and warning lights work and are original! Heater and defrost cables/control knobs are in good working order. The seats are in excellent shape but the driver's seat bottom shows some light fading. The carpeting was recently replaced and is in great shape and both door panels and sun visors are new. Original-style Kangol seat belts for driver and passenger. Reflective heat shielding has been installed on the floor beneath both seats and in the foot wells. Excellent 3 year-old soft top with no rips/tears/holes and crystal clear vinyl windows! The front and rear bumpers are straight and dent-free. All four tires have excellent tread; spare tire (wire wheel) is included. No dents, dings or other body damage other than a few minor blemishes. In addition to the car, the sale includes a full tonneau cover (no rips or holes, but it has been repaired in the past), a high quality car cover in like-new condition, the original jack with vinyl storage bag, keys for the door and trunk locks (yes, the keys work), a Bentley’s shop manual on CD, and some spare parts. The car has a clean NC title and is being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty express or implied.
