Vehicle Detail
Honda TL250 TL250 Vintage Trials Bike (old) 75 76 1976 Vehicle Description Hi, this is Don. This bike is located in Saint Louisville, Ohio 43071, 30 mi northeast of Columbus. I bought this Honda in 94, don’t know its history, just that I gave the guy a really nice shotgun. Everything is original, except the fenders, and some fasteners. It came with this aluminum Harley Sprint fender that fit so well, I didn’t worry about it When I got the bike I completely disassembled it, and repainted the frame. I painted the wheel hubs and relaced the rims. The rims are original, and in great condition. They are straight, not even a bump. Paints used were not OEM, just close color matches. I restored this bike for function, every joint, bearing, or wear part was serviced or replaced. This bike is 100% mechanical. I rebuilt the front forks, and even the rear shocks. New chain, can’t remember if I bought both sprockets, but they are like new. The chain tensioner is in great condition. The only thing I didn’t touch is the engine, it just plain ran perfect, and if it ain’t broke, change the oil. I did pull the outer cases for paint and clean out. I did repair the inlet and outlet pipe on the muffler, I removed the old one and fabricated a new one and welded it in. This worked well, it is the same size and shape, its very hard to tell. Rear tire has wear, but looks good. Front tire shows age checking, but still looks very usable. The tank has many dents, but is still very clean inside. I have cut and shortened the shifter, because it was to far away. It still shifts easily. The parts in the photo go with it, the side panels are rough, one is nearly cracked in half and both have one broken prong. The exhaust pipe is very good. I obtained it because the one on the bike was rusted when I got it. It was a double walled pipe, and I actually peeled the outer layer off and painted it. It doesn’t leak, and works well, but I bought this good one anyway. I obtained the oil breather, but never installed it either. After all I did to this TL, I probably only put 20 hours on it, just putting around the hillside. This is a shear pleasure to ride, performs exactly as it is supposed to. I last ran this last fall, but will get it out soon, and fire it up again. I don’t have any way to ship, I hope you can pick it up or make arrangements. I am very willing to help out anyway I can. Questions are welcome, email or call 740 745 3334.
