Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful 1995 Ford Taurus Sho. No Reserve!!! Highest bidder will take the car unless someone uses the buy it now! The last year of the second generation SHO's. The car runs great, and you can drive it anywhere. Yes, it is ready for you to fly in and drive it home, even if home is in California! It is ready to go! I am going to give a very detailed description of this car. So detailed that I will include every little thing wrong with the car that I can think of. I may sound petty and be very critical on a couple of the things, but I want no surprises for the new owner. The car is not brand new, and I am sure there could be something small I missed, but I will give a very honest and detailed description. The paint still shines like new, and people can't believe this car is now 16 years old! I have receipts for over $12,000 worth of work done to the car in the last two years/17,000 miles. All of the work was done by a professional and very respectable FORD shop out of Georgia. All parts from Summit, Ford, Ford Performance, etc., and installed by professionals! This SHO was not only built to drive, but also to show. It is not a trailer queen, but it is very, very nice. This SHO is very unique. The previous adult owner basically put a ton of money in this car to not only perform, but to look good driving down the road, or at the car shows. The car has spent its life in Florida. There is no rust on the body, or even under the body! That is right...take a look for yourself. All the problem rust areas of SHO's are not apparent on this one! Even under the car, a little bolt here and there may have surface rust, but that is it. No rust in the jams, trunk, quarters, etc. NONE! The body is about perfect except for a few little door dings by careless people who just have to park next to a nice car and jerk their doors open. None of the dings are big at all, and you have to look hard to see them. I was going to have them taken out for the shows, but now I am selling it instead. I am selling this toy because my wife has decided she wants a 2001 Mustang. First, I will give you the history that I know personally about. You can also read the entire history on the auto check. A video of my SHO accelerating can be found at http://tinypic.com/r/2mo31a9/6. Watch the tach and listen to how good it sounds, and see the performance from a rolling start of about 15 mph or so. This is regular horsepower, since the NOS has not been turned on. I bought this car last year for my 16 year old son. The guy I bought it from here in Florida had put an unbelievable amount of time and money into the car. He gave me a book with the documented receipts, dates, prices, etc. of all the work done within the last year or so. His intention was to fix it up as a show car, and to also drive it some. He was definitely a SHO enthusiast, such as myself. This is the sixth SHO I have owned. By far, the very nicest one I have owned too! Anyway, after making the deal, I drove the car home. I knew then that I had made a huge mistake. There was no way that I was going to give my son a car like this. Sho's are fast enough, but with the work done to this car, I could tell it was an absolute screamer. So I kept the car for myself, never letting my son have it. I bought him another car which I felt was safer and more practical for a 16 year old. He was not too happy, but I had to do what I felt was better for him. The previous owner told me that the car had never been repainted, except for the front and rear bumper covers due to fade. I have looked everywhere on the car, and see no evidence ever of a repaint except the covers. The car was obviously very well taken care of, garaged, not driven in bad weather, etc. I kept the SHO for myself like a greedy father would, and no one else has driven the car without me in it. Right after getting it, I let my son pull it into the garage. The left front bumper cover caught a couple of little bolts sticking out of the wooden door and ripped some of the plastic. I have fixed this area which was the size of a golf ball. You have to look for it to see it. It is not perfect, but they want $250 to do it perfect at the shop. Too much for something you can't even see. That is the only area on the car. He felt really bad about it, and so did I. But little things like that happen. I have a nice Taurus book, the receipts, owners manual, etc. The following is what makes this SHO so unique: The previous owner had a wet direct injected NOS system installed. Arguably, the best and most expensive system. He had the manifold drilled by an expert highly recognized for this specialty. The NOS and fuel of course get fed directly into each cylinder. The set up includes the fuel injection kit, HO fuel pump, mounted bottle in trunk all nitrous lines, solenoids, window switch, new manifold, SCT 4 program/4bank custom tuned chip for 93 octane and Nitrous Electric system. When switch is activated, a 125 shot automatically sprays at 3,000 rpm's. With everything done, receipts show about $2600 for all parts and labor. The custom drilling was extra of course. When I picked up the car, I immediately disconnected the hose from the tank and took the wire for the activation. I did not want my son having that much more power. But when I decided to keep it for myself, I still never used it either. Yes, that is correct! I have never used the system, but it sure sparks a lot of conversation. The previous owner said that when he used it, you would not believe the power! He had it custom dyno tuned, and I have that sheet. The horse at the wheels was 286! But even more impressive, torque was 347.3!!! Hold on is right! As I said, I have never used it. I saw no need to. In fact, I had several people who wanted to buy the complete NOS system. But it does look great at shows! Actually, if a person did not want it, you could have it removed and sell it. With the custom drilled manifold and the entire system, that is over $3,000. I would think you could get close to $1,000 for it. The good thing is that I also have the original manifold. So you could take the system off, and put the old manifold back on. Now, for some of the rest of the work done: 4 new KYB struts and Eibach Springs, inner tie rod ends, new motor mount, FelPro Head Set, intake/ exhaust valves, 3.0 intake camshaft (set of 2), cylinder heads reworked, set valve lash, resurface heads, new valve guide seals, ported, new camshaft seals, custom dyno tuned for street and nitrous, powder coated subframe connectors, new subframe connectors installed, new pump, wires, plugs, dynomax exhaust, custom air intake, 17" wheels (ASA JH8), Nitto Extreme ZR 245/45/17s, Heavy duty third generation brake upgrade kit to 12", and much more. Suspension lowered, etc. Over $11,000 in receipts. So as you can tell, the car runs plenty fast enough as it is without the NOS. You can keep the NOS and show off, or just sell the system. The car runs beautiful. Very fast and powerful. The air is ice cold, the auto climate control works perfect, power seats work, power windows, cruise, radio, mirrors, etc. Power roof works perfectly! Keyless entry on door, and automatic lights. No hand held f.o.b. Tinted windows done professionally and legal in Florida. (sticker of compliance on door) The CD player does not play for some reason. However, I bought a factory replacement, but have not installed it. That goes with the car. The carpet is like new. The back seat/area look new. This has the cloth/leather combination. The left side seat bolster is worn, and I took a picture of that driver's seat. Rest of the seat and passenger seat look pretty good. I saw a little burn on the passenger seat, but we do not smoke. Air bags work, all lights work, and no bad lights come on. It starts right up, and purrs. The dyno stainless exhaust is new, and is basically quiet. Tires are good, brakes are good, suspension is very tight, and the car corners and hugs the road like you would not believe. With the lower stance and the wide tires, this car looks aggressive just sitting there. Be prepared to be noticed by other drivers. Besides the extra manifold and cd player, I have a nice full size spare tire that matches, and a spare computer. I will describe what is wrong with the car, or what it needs. Nothing major, and none of it would ever need to be fixed, but I am mentioning it. First, the antenna is brand new, but it gets stuck. I do not know what is wrong it it, so I just have it in the up position. Next, all the power windows work, but the back ones can only be controlled by the back switches. (which I just put in new) Not sure why the main will not roll them down. The engine is very tight, and does not burn or use any oil. There is a tiny dime spot of oil on floor after a few days. It looks like it is coming from the filter, so I will try to get the oil and filter changed. There is a hose on the power steering over on the right side of the car that leaks a little out of the clamp. I can see it, but I can't get to it without putting it on a rack. Very easy fix if you have the ability. This is not the rack or anything, just a rubber hose and clamp. A tiny pea size window chip far over on the right passenger side of the windshield. Driver's door panel has a missing clip. Fuel door does not pop open automatically for some reason. The abs is all there, but is not on. I am not sure if it is disconnected, or it is a sensor. I found a sensor for $30.00, but I do not know that much about mechanical things. The previous owner has the heater disconnected. I did not know this until the other day, since I never used the heater. Could be a leaking core or the most major, or he may have just disconnected it for some other reason. I am still trying to contact him just to see about the heater and the abs. The little dime size knob to work on the sunroof inside the car is missing. The transmission shifts great with no slippage or hesitation. Even under full throttle. The previous owner told me that even when he got the car, when it was cold, you would sometimes notice a little bump from first to second if you were accelerating very slowly. Quite honestly, I look for that, but it rarely happens. It is not something where it jerks hard, it is just not as smooth as going in the other gears. The overdrive and everything works great. The front end squeaks sometimes, even though everything is new. (I know this is petty, but it does) I have set the buy it now price at what I believe is a very good price. Sell the entire NOS system and get at least 25 percent of your money back. But the good thing is, I have set this car with no reserve!! Yes, it may go cheap. I am comfortable that this car will bring what it is worth. If you could see the car in person, and drive it, you would buy it in a heartbeat. This SHO has to be one of the cleanest and nicest original paint ones around! If you are local, you are welcome to come and see it and drive it with me. If you buy the car, and come to get it, and it does not look like how I said it was, I will let you out of the deal. (for legitimate reasons...not just because you had a change of heart) You must have a paypal account. If you are blocked from bidding for some reason, such as too many unpaid strikes, etc., you will have to contact me first. Winning bidder is to pay $500.00 within 24 hours of winning the car. If you use the buy it now price, the car will still run for sale until you make your deposit, so please make it immediately. (for buy it now only) The rest is to be paid within 7 days unless prior arrangements are made. Remaining money to be paid in cash. If you have a certified check from a major bank, we will go to the bank together and get me cash before you get the car. I have a clear title in hand. I registered the car in Illinois, as that is where I am from. But the car has never left Florida since I have owned it. In fact, the State had lost my title somehow for 6 months or better, so even though it shows I titled it this year, I have had it for over a year. But they did eventually find it, and it is a clear title. If you have any questions, please ask them. As I said, the car is not brand new. I have tried to explain everything in detail. This is a used car, so it could have little imperfections, etc. I have described it honestly. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. It is a great car. But it is a used car, not to mention a SHO. They can be tempermental, so hopefully, a SHO enthusiast buys this car. I would like someone to get it who knows about SHO's. This one should last a very long time! I am getting ready to advertise the car locally too, so I reserve the right to remove the ad at any time. If you want any other pictures of a certain area, and you are serious, please let me know. I can also do a quick video of something for you too. Thank you.
