Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE ON THIS AUCTION!! You are bidding on a 1999 Cadillac Catera, 3.0L automatic, 4dr Sedan. This vehicle can be repaired and driven daily or used as a parts car by the winning bidder. This vehicle does not stay running and the winning bidder will have to have it towed or else drive it away AT THEIR OWN RISK. I bought this vehicle from my neighbor as he was moving out of state about a month ago. The vehicle ran fine for him up until about 4 months back. He drove it every day to and from work. The previous owner had told me that the car would not stay running. He stated that it ran fine until one day it died on him and that it took him a while getting it restarted and back to his house. After tinkering with it he could not figure out what was wrong with it and just let it sit until he was moving and had to get it off of the property. I aquired the car about 2 months ago, as a summer project, with the intentions of fixing it for my wife to drive or for one of my teenagers. I don't have a garage so it's hard to count on good weather to be able to work on the car. Plus trying to find the time to work on it hasn't been easy either with a busy schedule. After doing some minor work to it, and not being mechanically knowledgable enough to diagnose the problem, I decided to sell it because I do not have the time to put into it, or a garage to keep it in so I can take my time working on it, and I need the driveway space for other vehicles. Here's what I have done: Replaced both ignition coils. Replaced all 6 spark plugs Bought 2 hood stays (but have not installed them) Picked up 2 remote fobs (not programmed yet) I haven't spent much time working on it and my technical skills are limited, but here's what I do know about it: The vehicle starts, but will not stay running. If I unplug the MAF Sensor, the car will run until it warms up then it will not stay running if you take your foot off the gas. The vehicle needs O2 Sensor(s), according to the person I got the car from. The "CEL" (Check Engine Light) is not on, even though it doesn't stay running. This car is not in bad shape at all. It is a little rough and does need a good "once over." The outside has some light damage. The front bumper has the left side guard bent. The hood has a few dents in the front of the hood from pushing down while closing it. The left fender has a couple of small dents. The rear bumper has cracking paint. There is rust starting behind the left rear door. Plus other minor blemishes to exterior (see pics). The car does need to have the brakes all taken apart and cleaned/lubed and reinstalled as it has been sitting a while and the weather has taken it's toll on the rotors. The transmission was rebuilt/replaced approximately 40,000 miles ago (per the last owner). I have driven this car around the neighborhood a few times just to keep things from seizing up, like the brakes. The LEFT FRONT tire is flat. The spare is on there and the original chrome wheel and tire is in the trunk. The RIGHT REAR tire has a slow leak and will go down over about a month"s time. Slow leak, needs repair. Could be a rim leak. The cowl cover is broken and in the trunk as well as the one wiper arm/blade that I removed. The driver side lower dash cover (fuse cover) needs to be reattached. Here are some of the features I know it has. I indicated the ones I know do work: Power windows (all work fine) Power door locks (all but RT Frt door) Power Sunroof (works fine) Dual Climate Control A/C (works, but could use a charge) BOSE Stereo system (works and sounds great). Power seat (works) Black leather interior (only has rip in passenger front ). This vehicle is in good shape overall. This could be a great deal in the right hands. It is a "Mechanic's Speacial" for someone who knows these cars, or for someone who knows a mechanic and would be able to get this car running great. You can puchase this vehicle for repairing and daily use or for a parts car. Please see pics. Please read my FEEDBACK. I try to do my best to describe items I sell, to the best of my ability. Everything you read about this car, in this listing, will be just as I have described it. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I'll do my best to answer them.
