Vehicle Detail

Please see... www.brutushauls.com/65_mustang for more photos. 1965 Ford Mustang 200ci 6-cylinder engine with 3-speed on the floor. Body – 65A 2-door hardtop with standard transmission. Phoenician Yellow over black vinyl. About eight years ago this little Mustang was purchased and a hobby was begun to make this a dependable “driver”. She runs well and was a fun car for her owner. The tie-rods, wheel bearings and front and rear brakes were replaced first. New motor mounts, universal joints, front and rear shocks and rear springs were then replaced. The carburetor and the transmission were then rebuilt. Dirt had collected in the usual places so both rear fender wells were replaced. The front right fender well was also replaced. The typical cracks in the roof line just behind the rear windows needed to be welded up on both sides. Through restoration catalogs both doors were replaced and front and rear chrome bumpers were ordered. The windshield was replaced as were the front and rear windshield gaskets. Seat foam-cushions and covers were ordered along with gaskets, grommets, chrome emblems and trim pieces, etc. The body was sanded down to bare metal and sprayed with metal-etching primer surfacer before being sprayed with a sandable primer. Being an old retired electrician and not a painter, the owner decided to let MAACO paint the car with the original Phoenician yellow and adding the black Shelby-style stripes. The tires are very good 185/80R13 steel-belted radials. The old electrician is gone now but his amateur restoration Mustang remains. I am listing it for his widow. This is a decent, dependable “driver” that could be enjoyed for years to come. The odometer reads the original 174,000-plus miles but the engine had been rebuilt some time in the past. The exact mileage is unknown, however, the engine runs well and does not smoke or use oil.
