Vehicle Detail

This car is relisted because of unlawful actions(phishing) my account and to be fair it is relisted now that my account is safe! The information is updated For Sale is a Ultra Rare California Version 1970 Fiat 850 Coupe. Any Series 2 is super rare in this condition, you have only about 5 in this condition in the entire world if even that. The California Version has distinct side markers. I have had 2 of these in the past 25 years and this one I have owned for 5 years. Since I have purchased it I have added less than 2000 miles. The car has spent its entire life in California except for the time I have owned it. It has NOT been in rain, snow or even on a gravel road ever. This condition is so rare that if you pass on this opportunity, there will probably never be another in your lifetime. It took me 7 years to find this car. Overall this car is 99 percent rust free. It is in un-restored condition. That is one of the reasons it is such an ultimate find! The car is in superior condition therfore it should not be restored at this time and if you as the new owner purchase this car you will NOT want to or wish to alter the car in any way. Every piece of this car is in great condition except the weathered mirror glass and the weather checked bumpers. This car is not flawless as you can see in the pictures, but the minimal wear and tear on the body and paint keeps anyone from completely restoring it. The original spare, jack and tools are included along with a complete original FIAT Mechanics service manual of over 300 pages. All original equipment such as the original air filter container is also included along with a complete spare motor disassembled and various other parts. The engine bay underbelly pans are not on the car but are included. They have been bead blasted and repainted in OEM paint. Included also with the car is one pint of paint that has been photo scanned and professionally mixed to precisely match the patina of the paint as current on the original car. Which means anything you touch up or wish to repaint, you will have an exact match to the entire car. The block is also the original OEM color in perfect condition. Also with the car is OEM matched paint for the block, air cleaner and various other parts. This paint is unavailable anywhere and is a must, both of the colors. As you can see by the pictures the car has a couple of minor dents, very, very small rust spots, which are SURFACE rust and would be less than $200.00 to repair. Far less than typical cars. There is a 1ft square cracking in the back qtr of the enamel paint. There has been minimal work done on the body in small places, which probably was done back in the 1970’s. It is very, very minor. The glass has NO PITS or marks in it. Other than the bumpers the rest of the trim is in super excellent condition. All of the glass is excellent as well. Everything is in working condition. The actual miles is correct. The Wheels DO COME WITH IT and are worth $750.00. They are ultra rare made by Dunlop 13x6 with Yokahama High Speed radials. In my entire life of Fiats and Lancias I have only seen one other set of these on a car. That was years ago. They are far more rare than any Campy wheels. Mechanically it is excellent and here is the background. When I purchased it I drove it about 1000 miles and then pulled the motor and had it rebuilt. Using new and NOS parts where needed. The carburetor is the largest one available that can even fit on it and came with the car when I got it. Back in the 1970’s it was installed. I believe it is worth a large amount of money as well. As you can see by the pictures the engine bay is well sorted out and very detailed. New plug wires, hoses, water pump, gaskets, thermostat, cluth, etc. Ansa exhaust is on the car too. Since the rebuild there has been less than 500 miles put on the motor, and before you pick up or are delivered the car it will be fully serviced to make sure it runs correct and will have 1 mile on it after that. The oil pan and many components have been polished out and clear coated to protect them. Tune up has been completed too. This is the reason I am getting rid of the car, I will not have a mechanic who will work on it and I don’t know squat on how to service anything. Therefore you know everything is Certified Mechanic done. As far as questions- I know the engine rebuild was a $$$$ endeavor. I traded a BMW for it my mechanic wanted. Otherwise no one would touch a Fiat here in Nebraska. Under the hood any rust spots were treated with the best Porsche products. Any other area you may not see has had the same done. The underneath of the car is in impeccable shape. I have had installed supplemental oil and water gauges and disconnected the others. Reason being is I do not trust them and the only thing that can scare anyone about this type of car is overheating and blowing a head gasket. I can not take any chances since I can’t fix it. I do not know even how to change the oil. The decals on the car are magnets and can easily be removed and added. The interior is typical. The seats have covers on them because the seams are ripped and they will need new covers. The back seat upper needs recovered and the lower does not. As you can see by the pictures a custom carpet piece is in place of the rear seats to make it look much better as a 2 seat car since the back seats are not really functional anyway. The original carpet is sun faded but not ripped or worn through except behind the passenger seat. Original speaker grills of the day of Chrome metal are still in place, but no radio. The car has also had one leaf spring in the front removed so that the front end sits lower and it doesn’t look jacked up like most. The brake pads have been replaced with less than 500 miles on them. Like I said this is a very rare opportunity- especially when you get the car with the wheels. Delivery and pick up- You can pick it up if you want. If you want I will deliver it anywhere in the USA. The charge will be .75 per mile one way. The reason I am selling the car is if it breaks I have nowhere and no one to fix it. It is not because I do not love the car. On purchasing the car. I will require $500.00 immediately after the auction ends. I will require the balance in one week. The winning bidder will receive a itemized statement covering the entire car like above which is the legal representation of the car so you are insured to get the beautiful car as described. The car is fully insured and will not be driven from now until you get it other than by the mechanic if needed. If you wish for me to deliver the car payment based on miles must be paid ahead of time. Scheduled delivery may be earlier based on schedules and distance. You are welcome to look at the car if you are in the area. If you have any more questions email me. If you will like we can talk on the phone too. Once again this is it you will not find anything like this in the USA for a very long time. The other parts I have for Fiat 850's and 903cc motors are included too. I would estimate they are valued at around $500.00. With the Paint, $150, and the rims $750, you are not paying very much for the car it even at $5,000.00 PS Using the money for 15th wedding aniversary so bid high! On Jul-02-10 at 12:18:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added a picture of the underside of the car. It is clean and even has the original undercoating on it as you can see. This was to answer some of the questions The other questions is about the mtor. Besides being torn apart and rebuilt I know of new lifters, camshaft, gaskets, oilpump, rings, it has higher compression pistons now, new bearings, and was spec. out on everything to make sure correct. It will need the normal adjustments AFTER A REBUILD since it basically has almost no miles. The clutch and brake pads do not have even 1000 miles on them.
