Vehicle Detail
1972 Honda CB750K2 – Ready to go. Looks, runs and rides great. Clear Illinois title in hand (bike is titled as a 1973, but it is indeed a 1972 model). Not a museum piece, and the exact history is unknown, but an excellent example and a beatiful bike to ride and enjoy. Please view my pictures and feeback and bid with confidence. The previous owner of this bike is a friend of mine and he purchased it after being beautifully restored to its current condition by the prior owner who was a motorcycle mechanic and enthusiast. Although I am unsure of the exact history of this motorcycle, I will describe it in detail to the best of my knowledge. The engine number is CB750E-2051302, and I also have an extra engine which is also included in this auction, number CB750E-2451999. The extra engine is not nearly as clean as the engine in the bike, but it will work great for extra parts or to sell on its own. Cosmetically, the bike is beautiful…chrome and black paint are very shiny, no rust, no “pitting”, the motorcycle does not show its age as you can tell from the pictures. There is some flaking on the chrome plating on the left side engine cover which can be seen in the picture, but it is hardly noticeable from a short distance. Like most other older bikes that are ridden regularly, when you get up close and really examine the bike, you will see that it is not perfect...it has its minor flaws, but as you can see in the pictures, it is VERY clean. The rear taillight is also cracked/chipped, but not all the way through and still functions fine. The front and rear turn signals light up as they are supposed to when turned on, but do not flash. The indicator or “idiot lights” for the turn signal and high beam do not work, they will need new bulbs, but the neutral and oil lights work fine. Last month, the bike had brand new Dunlop tires (front and rear) and rear shocks installed. I had the bike gone over and the only thing the mechanic said the bike will need is to have the steering bearings lubed and within the next couple of seasons. Also, the front brake pads squeak when riding from time to time, so those will most likely need to be replaced at some point in the near future as well. The only noticeable issue when riding that I have noticed is a slight “shake” in the handlebars when speeds increase …but nothing that stops the enjoyment of the ride, and to be honest nothing I wouldn't expect from a bike that is of this age. I ride on a regular basis and the bike is a blast to ride and gets noticed everywhere I go. I purchased the bike for short rides around town, and it has been perfect for that. I keep a battery tender connected and the bike is always garage kept…never ridden in the rain. This bike is a famous among collectors and for good reason, it is a great looking motorcycle. The bike has excellent throttle response, starts up with no issues, shifts great through all gears, and does not leak a drop of fluids at any time. It performs best after being warmed up for a couple of minutes, but overall performs fantastic. If its been sitting for a while, it will blow A LITTLE white smoke, but after a minute of warming up, it runs perfect with no smoke, backfire, or other issues. The bike rides amazingly strong and smooth, and when you consider that it is almost 40 years old, it rides incredible. This motorcycle is very easy to ride…getting the bike moving is as easy as easing out the clutch lever. Left to idle in first gear, it moves along at a walking pace. The bike also has a really sharp four into one exhaust system that sounds excellent. Another perk is that it is very inexpensive to insure, I pay $99 a year. As you can tell by the pictures, this bike has been very well cared for, and with continued care, this bike should run strong for many years to come. Also included with this bike are two service manuals (I do not have the original owners manual though), original tool kit, and MANY extra parts. Extra parts include ENTIRE extra engine as I stated above…Extra carbs, air filter and box, oil tank, mirrors, turn signals, headlight, brand new brake and clutch levers, shift lever, kick start lever, miscellaneous hardware, and many other parts, most of which are in very good condition. As this is a used/vintage bike, there is no warranty with it, it is being sold as is. Buyer assumes all responsibility once item is sold. Any bids placed by members with a negative feedback history will be cancelled. Please email me if you have any other questions. Thanks!
