Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A RARE ONE,it is the lowest serial number gb500 i have ever seen.it is the 19th one to roll out of the factory!!!.it has been kept very nice by my friend since new.it has only covered 7,360 miles from new, still in excellant shape, never been wrecked,or down.recently my friend fell on hard economic times(swimming pool contractor) and knew i was selling my collection of classics,(i had over 300 of them)so he asked me to purchase his bike so i could sell it with my collection.he had a impressive collection of classics, this is the last one he had hoped he would not have to sell. If you are not familiar with these, they are fairly rare, they were a limited edition model designed to capture the simplicity, elegance, and sheer beauty of a bygone era of classic english motorcycles.they started off with the classic british stlye 500cc single, then designed it to look like a classic VELOCETTE racer.in recent years the design philosophy of the classic british single has re- popularized them among collectors worldwide.they are nimble, light, and the sound of a single,is relaxing to the ear and riding psyche.the problem with buying the bike it was designed after is they are the HARDEST STARTING bike i have ever owned, bar none!!!the honda of course purrs and with the electric start button,no worries about it ever leaving you with a pulled hamstring,in order to get home!!!(this happened to me 9 years ago)this honda has a really easy clutch, nimble at rest, and a very responsive engine, yet as easy to ride as a 125cc bike,it is a wonderful piece of engineering, everyone asks questions when they see it it always gathers a crowd. these are lovely bikes to ride, they handle great, they are as stated; relaxing to ride.if you want to ride something different, experience the relaxing beat of a single ,going back 70-80 years in motorcycle design.when you get off one you will not have your adrenoline, running at 100mph,but rather more like wanting to take the long way home while riding through the country side smelling the fresh cut grass, and the un- hurried sound of a slow revving single ---THATS what singles are all about, and honda did a great job recapturing the look/feel and sound of that bygone era.this bike will only escalate in rarity and value.when i researched the bike a few minutes ago to see what they have been selling for on ebay i saw only one in recent months--; it sold for $7300.i can remember in recent years they were selling for $4000-4500,so they are definately going up(a nice thing to experience when buying a cool collectable toy)this one is selling AT NO RESERVE,so bid with confidence you can own it,rather than bidding all week to find the eccentric owner wants more than the current market price.i also put a buy it now price for the person who does not want his/her heart broken,in the last 5 seconds of bidding with someone owning a ultra fast computer sniping the bid at the last second, and missing out on it. this bike has sat in his collection for approx 3 years so i took it to my local mechanic on japanese bikes and had a new battery installed and a cleaning of the carburator i had him put aviation fuel in it so it will not go bad again while it sits.if you look at the pictures closely you will find NO corrosion ON NUTS/BOLTS,WHICH DISPLAYS THE INDOOR CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE IT HAS HAD,since new.this is the kind of bike you want to find,if i were not selling my collection to retire i would keep it myself,(as i had one before i decided to liquidate my collection of over 30 years).it has a clear florida title.i can also assist in inexpensive shipping.i am in florida and for an example, can get it shipped to to your door in los angeles for only $400 in a enclosed trailer fully insured.this is about 1/2 ,or less,of what most shippers charge.of course other states are usually less than that.any questions call my cell 352-598-7431 weekdays or home 352-595-5079 (most evenings &weekends)GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!!
