Vehicle Detail

Straight auction... no reserve and no insertion price. You are bidding on my '92 Ford F-150 SB 2WD with 177,939 miles. It has the 4.9L (300ci) straight six mated with an automatic w/ overdrive transmission. The body has a few dents and dings here and there but has almost no rust at all. The chassis has minor surface rust and the frame is solid (it could eventually use a fresh coat of black paint/primer to keep it rust free). When I bought the truck, the blue paint was starting to fade and peel so I bought a cheap paint gun and threw black paint on the body to keep it from rusting (I hate dealing with bondo... and couldn't afford Maaco). I'm assuming that whoever had the truck before me didn't perform regular maintainance. New parts that I installed include: Goodyear Wrangler SRA tires, starter relay, spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition coil, ignition switch, ignition keylock cylinder, brass terminal distributor cap, distributor rotor, front brake pads, safety neutral switch, and a muffler. I put a fiberglass campershell on the bed, but it could use paint and some new rubber seals. I hate to let this go but I no longer have to the time or money to fix this up. I wanted to keep this as a work, hunting, and fishing vehicle... but my family dictates something else. I was driving it to work one morning and noticed it was leaking antifreeze, but I thought I could make it to work and tinker with it there. It overheated on the way. I filled it with coolant, but it just poured out the bottom of the engine. So, it could be a lower radiator hose, freeze plugs, water pump or something else (I just couldn't get underneath and see for sure). I towed it home and was able to start it and park it; so it runs but I don't recommend driving it until it's fixed. I think this would be a good project truck, work truck, or a decent daily driver for someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and is willing to stick with it for the longhaul. It will need new oil seals (oil pan, rear main, and front crankshaft), service to the cooling system, work and parts for the A/C system, a radio, and some good old fashioned tender loving care. The primary tank isn't functioning properly, due to the fact that you can't fill it up without spilling gas (vapor locked or or fuel module... I never had time to investigate this problem). You are buying this vehicle AS IS and I tried my best to accurately descibe this vehicle. It will need some work, so buyers please be aware. Buyer is responsible for towing or shipment of this vehcile.
