Hello VW Thing fans. Up for bid is a 1973 VW Thing. The car is fairly complete but disassembled. Here is the history of the car as I know it: The car was titled 4/13/94 to a Greg Grant in Lafayette ,IN.. The car was then sold to Walters Auto Repair in Lafayette 9/13/03. The car was then sold to Martin Gress 9/3/05. My fellow VW club member purchased the car from Martin at the MId America Show June 2007. Scott brought the car home to Jonesboro, AR, got it running and then disassembled the car for restoration. After disassembling Scott found a completed Running Thing and sold the disassembled car to Chris Blanchard. The car set disassembled in his mothers garage for 2 years. The mother contacted me through my VW mechanic last September about the car. I brought the car to move it to a better home so someone could bring this VW back to life. The Good: Clean Indiana Title, Complete Gas Heater, complete 1600 cc dual port engine, the front steering and brakes have been disassembled, backing plates and spindels sandblasted and painted. all door panels, hood, bonnet, fenders and instrument panel in great shape, all 4 wheels, 2 new tires, all turn signals and brake lights good, New ball joints and tie rod ends in boxes.
