1959 RENAULT Dauphine GORDINI Engine 4speed AMAZING Original Condition This is an original California car, basically rust free. There is some minor rust at the bottom of a couple of the doors and one spot below the drivers seat, shown in the photographs. The original engine and transmission were replaced with a rebuilt Gordini engine ( with a Carter YF Carburetor ), and a 4 speed transmission with a new clutch. The interior is excellent for it's age. It has the original rubber carpet mat (with some tears) and original headliner in very good condition. The car starts and drives all the time. There are four brand new tires. It has a new muffler, antennea, windshield rubber, clutch. The windshield has some wiper marks on the right side. The bumpers are shiny but could use rechroming because of rough spots. Wipers dont work, but I didnt try to fix them. The tranny whines in first gear and i believe it is a bad bearing, but it is quiet in all other gears and runs great. This is an old car, not a restored car. there are other small things like needing an alignment, and some creaks and groans, but really quite wonderful for an old Dauphine!
