Vehicle Detail

This is an all original FJ40. I am very sad to see it go since I bought it to restore...but have too much going on. I have owned it for 7 years or so and used to drive it back and forth to work on a regular basis. This is a unique rig since it is a manual with "3 on the Tree" transmission where the shifter is on the column. Once you get used to it....I prefer it to the floor stick. 3 speed trasmission. Please take a look at the photos closely, since it does have some rust that needs to be cut out...but nothing thas is all that bad. The person that had it before me undercoated everything underneath so it kept things from really rusting. Many people think that corner diamond plateing is put on to hide rust...NOT in this case. No rust on the corners under the diamond plating that I can see...I took photos. The most significant rust is on the back seal and the drivers seat....but unlike most, the rust is not spread everythere....the holes you see is the most you get...Even above the inside wheel wells is solid. It does not have the factory bumper on it. The paint job is fresh, but not professional by any stretch.....so to be clear this vehicle needs a full restoration....including new paint. This rig has not spent a day under the weather since I got it....always inside the garage. We painted it in order to make sure no rust ever continued until I got a chance to restore it. Engine runs strong and starts very easily with the choke. It will eventially need a good overhaul since it kind of smells like it burns a bit of oil. Milage is unknown but reads 14,500. Could be 114K or 214K...not sure. The carb was rebuilt and cleaned when I first got it and new points and roter were put in. The clutch is a bit sticky and unfortunately it needs brakes bled...so no brakes at the time being. I had a oil changing shop bleed the brakes since they felt a bit mushy....and it only made it worse....so I have not fixed. Heater works great. Good solid fiberglass top...but no liner is attached. Seats need to be redone. Pretty much will need a restoration some day....but certainly can be used for a daily driver until that happens....I DID IT! 4 wheel drive works amazing. Has larger 32 11. 50s on currently and think it may have a slight lift. This is a great rig and I am sure someone will love it. I have been as honest about this rig as I possibly can....if you need more info or pictures please let me know and I will try to get even more details. I have a few more photos of the underneath portions I can give. I should also disclose that the tail light cover is broken...can see in the photos...but have a closeup. Other than that...she is rock solid. I would like to have $500 dollars up front through paypal and the remainder in a cashiers check or money order within a week of final bid. My reserve is under 3K but this rig is really worth it. Local pickup only since it does not have brakes currently. I may consider delivery myself if the price is right. I can hold the vehicle for 30 days following the final payment. Take care and happy bidding.
