Vehicle Detail
1968 Triumph Bonneville T-120 in great working order. This bike was previously owned and restored by owner of a company that I worked for in 2002. The company (like most internet start-ups at that point) fell on hard times and the bike was offered to me in exchange for work. I am providing this back story because I need to separate what I know about the bike from what I have been told about the bike. What I have been told; The bike was originally purchased and titled by my previous employer in London, which explains the front fender plate. He had the bike shipped to the states and restored around 2001 by British Cycle in Chicago. What I know about the bike; the numbers on the engine and frame match, the bike runs great. The OD shows 6315 miles about half of which I put on the bike. This would fall in line with the OD being reset when the bike was restored. I have primarily performed regular maintenance on the bike, new tires, rebuilt the forks, brakes, etc. I did have the gearbox rebuilt by the legendary Harold Werth, who also worked on the bike a few times over the last few years. The tank is not original, though it is a 68. When I was working for the previous owner, he would chain the bike to a sign post, came out one day to find the bike laying on the post, with the tank dented (the original tank). He left for a couple hours and returned with the black tank. The paint on the right side of the tank is fracturing, and will need to be addressed in the next year or two. The bike turns over in a kick or two, and has no known issues. This bike draws attention like few others can, you will be hard pressed to take it anywhere without someone stopping to tell you a story or two, or asking about it. I will also toss in a few misc. parts I have laying around and the shop manual. I will try to answer any questions, but unfortunaly don't have much information about the primary restoration.
