Vehicle Detail
This is an extremely reliable, two-door 1993 Honda Civic DX Hatchback purchased in Memphis, TN, which I have owned since 1998. I am the second owner of the car, which I purchased at about 40,000 miles. It now has about 150,435 miles on it. I used this car to commute daily to work, but since I now live near public transportation and parking isn't free, I don't use it as much as I once did. The car gets great mileage. With daily 8-10 mile use, a tank of gas lasts about a week to a week-and-a-half. It costs about $20-$30 to fill the tank depending on the price of gas. The front bumper is loose. The car was also in an accident in January which caused some damage to the left side, including the door (which does not open anymore), the side headlight (which is missing) and the front fender (the photos show the extent of the damage). Since the accident, when the car hits a pothole or bounces vigorously, the bent front fender hits the front left tire. Other than that, the accident hasn't altered the car's performance - I've driven it from NYC to Philadelphia since then and still use it for various errands. I plan to use the more economical Zipcar service to run errands once I sell the car. There is also rust at the left and right rear wheels of the car, which is apparently common for a Honda. The driver's seat has a rip in it, which is why there is a seat cover on it. No one smoked or ate in this car. The car has been well taken care of by me. My mechanic changed the oil regularly and made sure the car received all of the necessary milestone work. The next service, besides oil changes, will be a coolant change at 160,000 miles. The car received a tune up early last year. The muffler and center exhaust pipe were replaced last May. The AC is working weakly. It needs a new blower motor (my mechanic changed the motor blower resistor last year, so it is definitely the blower motor that is the problem). My cassette adapter recently got stuck in the cassette/radio deck (I don't know why that happened or if it's easy to fix.) The battery is from AAA. I have all of the receipts for all the work done on the car since I've owned it. If you would like to see something, please e-mail me with a request. The car has an alarm system installed. It also comes with the original car manual. I installed new front speakers in the early 2000s. A $150 deposit is required 48 hours after the auction ends. Full payment is required within 7 days of the auction's end.
