yes, it is a turbocharged v8 volvo, no mistake in the listing. this car runs on megasquirt engine management. if you don't know what megasquirt is, please do some research before bidding. it is a fully programmable engine management system that controls spark and fuel. this means that it's not as 'turn-key' as a stock vehicle would be. you have to start it and flip a fast idle switch, let it warm up, and once fully warm then you can romp on it. there is a hot-start issue as well which sometimes requires me to flick the key on and off a few times before i can get it started. i think that may be a setting in megasquirt itself. the car is a 1984 volvo 760gle. the original v6 engine has been removed and a ford 5.0 liter v8 has been installed in it's place. the ford 5.0 that is in the car is also turbocharged and intercooled. the boost is set at 7psi and the last time it was dyno'd with a base tune it put down 354whp and 462wtq. that's right around 400hp for the engine at the crank. it has a 1991 ford f150 2wd AOD transmission with a Lentech shift kit (street terminator). the good: -ford 5.0 bored 0.030" over for 306cid -gt40 cylinder heads -e303 camshaft -borg-warner t4 single turbo -external 38mm wastegate -TurboXS RFL blow-off valve -lentech shift kit -accel 52lb/hr injectors -megasquirt MS-1 v2.2 -NGK wideband o2 sensor w/ display for tuning -locking rear differential from 1993 940 -additional water temp, oil pressure, trans temp, and turbo boost gauges -arp head studs -ford motorsport head gaskets -large front-mount intercooler -external oil cooler, remote mount filter -external transmission cooler -bosch motorsport '044' fuel pump the bad: -trans leaks atf at the shifter shaft seal -no air conditioning -sometimes o/d shifts late -open downpipe exhaust (very loud, i have a muffler i can put on if you like) -needs front strut mounts -needs front tires please contact me with questions or if you would like to see the car. i will not ship the car. located in Falls Church, Virginia. this car is stupid fast but it has its quirks and i'm selling it AS-IS. added a video of it running:
