Vehicle Detail

1967 GTO Convertible PHS Documented Hurst His and Hers Shifter Automatic 67-period correct motor. 400 V8 with mild cam. I was told that it had 68 HO heads on the motor. She needs a Hurst rebuild kit for the shifter. Runs Great New canvas on electric top Now for the story...67 GTO is hands down no doubt my dream car. Approx 10 years ago I bought this car which needed restoration. The engine had recently been rebuilt but it needed a new top and all the rest. Went to a local body shop who also expressed a great love for my Goat. He said it would be great advertisement for him and he would cut me a great deal to do all the body work. Unfortunately, the work that I paid for was not the work that I received. As you can see in the photos, rust is starting to come through the body panels (he was supposed to cut out any rust). He was also supposed to disassemble, paint and reassemble the entire undercarriage. What I received was undercoating in a spray can which of course didn't last. Until recently, the car has been mostly stored with the occasional cranking or running uptown or the local Sonic. I'm now to the point where I either need to restore this car correctly or let someone else do it. I have a 454 HO GM Crate motor that will be offered seperately for the car to any potential buyer. If I do not sell her, then I will start the process myself, unfortunately there are not a lot of good body guys in my area. For the most part all of the floors, trunk, pan, frame and suspension components are all solid. The undercarriage has light surface rust which I left so that potential buyer can inspect it as it is. Please look at the photos carefully, I've tried to take good photos so that potential buyers can take a look at any problems that do exist. I also encourage potential buyers to come look at her to inspect themselves prior to end of auction. Please let me know if you have any specific questions and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. Also note that the VIN plate on the drivers side door was removed during restoration and unfortunately wasn't relocated. I know that it certainly doesn't look like it, but I have probably close to $35,000-40,000 in this car. We've listed this as a 10 day item so that any interested parties can inspect her prior to end of auction. I cannot be responsible for anyone not inspecting the car and then complaining about it later after close of auction. I've tried to describe this car to the best of my ability. By bidding on this car, I presume that you have inspected this car and have had the opportunity to look at the car personally or are satisfied with my description. Please be advised that she is being sold as is where is.
