Vehicle Detail
Up for a no reserve auction is my 1997 VW GLX VR6 with a 5 speed manual transmission. There is 166k on the body and motor. No rust on the body or the undercarriage. Transmission shifts through all gears very smooth. The clutch grabs well and seems to have plenty of life left. This jetta accelerates very quickly with the 2.8l motor and brakes well with its 4 wheel disc brakes. I bought this jetta with intentions of using it as my daily driver. But we just leased a new vw so this one is for sale. The leather interior is near perfect, no rip or tears. The carpet is clean. All windows and sunroof work, they are power. A/C blows cold, definetly a must for Florida. Paint is clean and presentable, not perfect but looks good for a 13 yr old sedan. The motor has no leaks, and oil has been changed every 3,000 miles. There is stack of paperwork showing repairs and vechile service records i will include with the sale. Sometime back the cat was replace with a new unit, at which time an aftermarket exhaust was also installed. Not too loud, but you can definetly tell its there. Also a K&N cone filter has replace the restrictive factory air-box. 17" alloy wheels as pictured are included. The tires have good rubber and have many more miles on them. Previous owner told me that the timing chains were done at 103k, can't find the reciept so i cannot confirm. The motor is pretty quiet and the chains are quiet as well. So i would imagine they would not need attention any time soon. While this jetta is not perfect, its fairly a clean example of VR6 GLX Jetta. This is 13 yr old car and i don't claim it to be perfect, but it should make the new owner pretty darn happy. I can make arrangments for shipping if the buyer wants it. I've used DAS in the past and they cheap and easy to work with. Bid early and ask questions if have them.
