Don't miss out on this beauty, it won't last! The Beetle came with an air-cooled, rear-mounted, fuel-injected four-cylinder engine that generated 58 horsepower. A four-speed manual transmission, dual braking system, four-wheel independent suspension, and a flow-through ventilation system were also part of the package. Standard features for the Beetle included seat belts for the driver and passengers, two-speed windshield wipers with a pneumatic washer system, swiveling sun visors, coat hooks, assist straps, folding rear seats, and luggage space under the front hood and in a three-foot carpeted compartment behind the rear seats. A convertible top was optional. As the Beetle evolved, so did the cabriolet. It was considerably dearer than the sedan and was always a "de-luxe" model with the most powerful engine in the range. About 330,000 were made before the model was discontinued on the 10th January 1980, the last of the Beetle models to be produced in Germany. The production figure makes the Karmann Cabriolet the biggest selling convertible car ever, echoing the success of its world champion cousin from Wolfsburg.
