Lovin' Oven up for Worldwide Auction! Serious buyers and enthusiasts should go here for a full description with many large, high-res, & easy-to-view pics: https://sites.google.com/site/westydeluxe/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've included the first pictures below so you can compare the vintage ad to the real thing. And the road trip pictures are from a 2003 cross-country trip: Missouri River, Glacier National Park, Big Sur, and the Petrified Forest. A few tanks of gas + this camper can get you there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You are bidding on an unmolested and garaged 1978 Volkswagen Westfalia Deluxe Edition Campmobile that has always been owned by professionals. No need for anything but a cosmetic restoration, which was completed about 1000 miles ago. Not a trailer queen, but a beautiful daily driver & camper that will provide many more years of dependable service and lots of fun. After 12 years of great times, my wife and I have outgrown it and so, after a long search, we bought a newer -and perfect- Vanagon Westfalia Deluxe. (See final pic of Brick Haus.) Clear title in hand. We’re in Queens, New York City and just a short walk from the 74th Street / Roosevelt Avenue Subway stop. Please do feel free to e-mail via E-bay to set up a time to inspect before bidding. The "Deluxe" model has every available feature and accessory. Original Camping Features: Sink w/ Fresh Water Tank, Propane Stove, and Refrigerator Large Rear Table, Small Front Table Camp Box that fits between front seats Cabinets are in excellent condition, interior sanded, sealed, and lined, exterior laminate is complete Child’s Cot and Rear Bug Screen Privacy Curtains (original) Dual Batteries and City Power and Water Hookups Upper Bunk and Lower Fold-Down Bed (each sleep 2) Cabinetry is excellent and upholstery is OEM original. The heater works, blower works, all interior and exterior lights and horn work properly. When camping, we cook on an outdoor stove, so only water and coffee have been heated inside. Tight body and interior with special attention paid to minimizing annoying rattles by making cabinet doors and jalousies shut as they should. Recent Mechanical Work: Valves adjusted, new valve cover gaskets, oil change, and tune-up New fuel lines New, orignal, OEM heater boxes, flaps, and pipes New top-quality OEM clutch, pressure plate, and bearings New OEM Bosch starter, fuel pump, and heavy duty alternator Top-end complete engine rebuild was performed about 40,000 miles ago. The Bus drives and stops straight, has newer shocks, and good tread on the correct 8-ply BF Goodrich radial tires. Most mechanical work is performed by Mike Block, proprietor at Michael's European Motorworks in Yonkers. With many invoices, the new owner will receive a binder detailing maintenence over the past 20 years. Body / Systems: New paint in original Dakota Beige with work performed personally by Dan Miller, an experienced Ohio-based classic VW craftsman. All windows and fixtures were removed, all rubber was replaced. http://www.redbarnrestorations.com/ Original, clean pop-top canvas Rubber floor mats throughout protect the original carpeting Matching keys for all external locks What’s not perfect: Camper top seal is short and patched for about two inches in length. A few quarter-sized, barely noticeable patches on the otherwise perfect pop-top canvas. Slight oil leak consistent with VWs of this vintage. This is a 30-year old vehicle, but it is still beautiful and reliable. Out-of-town and overseas buyers are encouraged to bid, and I may be able to facilitate an airport pick-up. There will be no surprises when you come to drive it away. I would be confident to drive this bus across the country and, as you can see, I have done it. I may be able to assist with delivery or shipping. The bus is for sale "as-is." It is offered for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Serious buyers and bidders please. You are welcome to contact me through E-bay with questions. A $1,000 bank wire transfer deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close. Payment in full is due within seven calendar days of auction close. Cash, legitimate cashier’s check, or bank wire transfer will be accepted. Thank you for looking! -The new owner can look forward to owning an excellent vintage VW Camper.
