Vehicle Detail
This is an exceptional and unique 1967 Mustang Shelby Tribute Car with a 351 Windsor Ford Racing crate motor, 4 speed close ratio Top Loader transmission, and 9-Inch gear driven Trac-Loc posi rear witih 3.91:1 gearing. This car gets a lot of attention at local car shows. I purchased this car about 2 years ago with the intent of building a Shelby style "Trans-am" racer. The body had recently went through an overhaul with new metal on the rear quarters, front fenders and doors, as well as new front-half floor pan. The previous owner had it painted the current beautiful brittney blue with white stripes (one of the rarest Shelby only colors) I added the Shelby style hood, and had the front clip and back quarters re-painted (there was some damage on one rear quarter). I also upgraded the transmission from a manual 3 speed to the current hurst-shifted 4-Speed close ratio manual transmission out of a 1969 Mach-1 (the transmission alone is worth over $1,000). The 9 inch rear was also rebuilt by a local speed shop, with new 3.91:1 gears added and a gear driven posi unit good for at least 600HP (at a cost of $750, not counting the price of the original differential). The .060 over 351 Winsdor engine has a moderate cam, iron heads (with negotiation you could have a set of aluminum heads I have not yet installed), Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake, Holley 650 carb, stainless Headman Headers, MSD ignition system, oversized 3 core radiator, a Flowmaster Dual exhaust, competition clutch (unknown brand), with some billet brackets and pulleys. I rebuilt the entire suspension on the car (all new upper/lower control bars, springs, bushings, ect.) with a disc brake conversion kit with new 2 1/2 inch wide rear drums, and Street Bandit 1" lowering springs shocks, and front/rear sway bars and added polyurathane bushings. I've added both a chrome export brace and monte carlo bar to the engine compartment to stiffen the chasis. The suspension has been further reinforced with weld on frame connector rails, and Shelby style rear traction control bars. I completed the classic look with American Racing Torque Thrust wheels and Radial TAs all the way around (tires have less than 3,000 miles). Finally, I added a rebuilt power steering unit from a donor car. To improve weight distribution, I've relocated the battery to the trunk, and reversed the spare tire hold down, to allow better weight distribution while not running with the spare tire. I have the complete original spare tire for the car (it still holds air), with perfect condition jack and lug wrench as well. Look at the spotless trunk! The interior is solid black, with headreast seats from a 1969 Mustang, and a rare '67 floor console (see NPD for a new console at over $900). I also upgraded the sound system with a hide-away remote controlled Sony HD Radio/CD unit in the glove box. and upgraded speakers to include a custom rear package tray with retrofit "3rd eye" brakelight. The lighting on this car has also been updated to include the latest Delta performance halogens with forward mounted relays to maximize output, and relay switched off-road fog lights installed "Shelby style". This car is driven, and is not a "trailer queen". During nice weather, I drive this car almost daily to car shows and grocery getting. Despite the rear-end gear and larger displacement enginer, the car still gets 16 MPG on the highway, and is fun to drive. It's a veteran of two Woodward Dream Cruises, and several local 100 mile + Mustang owners' association road trips and cruise-ins. Because of that, it does have a few small nicks in the paint, and some rubbing spots on the drivers side forward door jam (prior to me having the doors re-aligned when I had the front clip and rear quarter painting done about 1 year ago), but nothing significant. This car is for serious buyers only, is a complete turn-key car, and requies a $500 deposit within 48 hours of posting the winning bid. I know you will love this car as much as I have, and I'm more than happy to answer any questions. Mileage is not believed to be accurate, as the odometer has been changed out to update the instrument cluster, approximately 3,000 miles ago. The car body was last overhauled, with new engine installed approximately 5,000 miles ago.
