Corvette 1958, Signet Red, w/red interior, like new condition, frame off restoration in 1998 only driven 242 miles since then. Non matching 283/230 V8 engine, all other numbers match, VIN tag, frame body etc....4-speed transmission, heater, whitewall tires, white soft top. Vehicle appraisal and inspection done September 2007 by Corvette Mike-Midwest, paint, interior, engine, chassis, top, chrome, glass and body fit on scale of 1-5, were given a 5-excellent. Here are the condition comments made "Overall the general condition of the vehicle is excellent. The Corvette was a frame off restoration and completed in 1998 by Corvette Repair, Lake Zurich IL. The paint is a base coat/clear in excellent conditionwith a nice shine. The interior is in excellent condition and appears to be almost new. The engine and engine bay are in a detailed and excellent condition. The engine block is not original to this Corvette but has many original or correctly styled parts and appears as the correct style. The chassis is clean and straight and also detailed the rear axle has the correct rebound straps. The chrome is in excellent condition. The glass is replacement and non-dated but in excellent shape. The overall fit of the body is excellent with all of the panels showing a very good fit." Only flaw on car is a couple scratches on back side of door jambs which are visible in picutres and easily repaired. If you are looking for a numbers matching car, the cost of purchasing this car plus the cost of matching numbers on this car will be far less than purchasing a numbers matching car needing restoration and restoring it, or purchasing a numbers matching car in condition equal to this.
