Vehicle Detail
One Sweet Ride! Factory FULLY LOADED!! This car was built in San Jose California. Made its way to Santa Monica Ford in Los Angeles in 1966. It was first sold to a family that lived in Bel Air California were it spent its first 20 years. From there it was sold to a San Fernando couple before I purchased it. I am the third owner of this fine RUST FREE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CAR. This car never saw those harsh salty roads you find back east. Not your typical Back East Frankenstein you see here on Ebay so often. One very nice 1966 factory V8 289 Mustang that came from the factory fully loaded with Power Steering, C4 Automatic Transmission, Air Conditioning, Deluxe Pony Interior, Long Center Console, Remote exterior side mirror and Deluxe Rally Style Steel Wheels. These are not reproduction wheels that have the welded in centers. They are Factory Riveted. Factory Air Conditioning was updated and rebuilt to accommodate 135A refrigerant. My car still retains its ORIGINAL Black and Gold California plates. I scraped off some stickers down to the 1968 sticker. I have a clean California Title that goes with the car. RUST FREE and clean as this. When I say “rust free” I mean everywhere on the car. Frame rails, torque boxes, floor pans (see pics), wheel wells, quarter panels and trunk floor pan. I included some pics of how the car looked when I purchased it. It was a very straight Wimbledon White car, I had it repainted Wimbledon white with a color sanding and buff to give it a radiant shine. All parts were removed from the car before painting, and then reinstalled including all rubber seals. A great everyday car as it’s easy to steer with the factory power steering. This mustang drives straight as an arrow. I cruise the Freeways with total confidence. A very comfortable solid ride. Engine stays very cool. It was rebuilt about 25k miles ago. The engine compartment is very straight as well with no signs of previous damage or repair (see pics). I added a Heavy Duty Radiator and fan shroud. I had the original Factory carburetor rebuilt. You will notice the original AM radio is still in the dash. It works great! How many original 44 year old AM radios do you still see working??? Not butchered out with some aftermarket replacement! I added a Dual Cone dash speaker into the original speaker location. Taken out on weekends for pleasure rides only to be pampered and returned to the garage. Never abused by young kids. All the lights work properly. Below I have listed all the fine details that were added or replaced on this car. INTERIOR: I had installed correct 1966 Dark Red Pony Interior, Not the brighter 65 red. The 1966 Dark Red just looks so much richer than the 65 bright red. All these items Brand New: Deluxe Pony Door panels, Pony interior door handles, Pony floor mats, Headliner, Package Tray, Kick Panels, Deluxe wood grain gauge bezel and glove box door. Interior chrome is original and looks new. Both front and back windows had new rubber seals installed after paint. Ignition switch and door locks are matching and new. Defroster ducts and plenum. There is a factory hole under the dash that I left open about the size of a nickel shown in the picture. A Deluxe Seat Belt warning light fits into that hole. I have it, but the chrome was a little pitted so I didnt install it, but the plugs are there. This car came also with the deluxe push button seat belts. EXTERIOR: All this is New or NOS: New correct 1966 Wimbledon White Dupont paint. Front and rear Bumpers, Door handles, Door seals, GT gas cap, antenna, Trunk lock chrome, Tail light bezels and gaskets, NOS tail light lenses, Trunk weather seal, Door rubber seals, Roof seals, Hood to cowl seal, Hood Bumpers, side Remote mirror. Chrome valve covers and a Hipo air cleaner, Blue 8mm spark plug wires, All new aluminized Turbo exhaust system with GT Trumpet tips exiting through the rear valance. BOTTOM LINE: Is this, You can go and buy a polished rust bucket but all you will have is trouble with the paint in the future as its nearly impossible to get the rust completely out unless the car is acid dipped. A solid rust free car like this one will appreciate much faster in value than a car with rust bubbles coming through the paint. I will miss this car. I reserve the right to end this auction and sell this car early if the Buy It Now is met locally. This is the perfect car for the first time driver or just an investment to drive to car shows. Why buy a $20k toyota or new car and watch it depreciate in value when you can have a classic like this solid car and watch the value go up! I get so many complements on this color combination. I am selling this car because I am relocating and can’t take it with me. I am also selling my mechanic shop with 5 bays. I will entertain offers. It is located at: Best Tire and Brakes 1140 So. La Brea Ave. Inglewood, CA 90301 I sold my Black coupe about 6 months ago and finished up this white one. I spent allot of time and money to complete it. The expense is allot more than what I have a BIN price installed for. I urge you to come test drive this car! I can be contacted for appointments at 310-227-6860 Lynn. EMAIL: mecone@aol.com Happy Bidding. Buyer accepts full responsibility to pick up the car after auction. I will assist in any way. Car is being sold AS IS WHERE IS. This is a used car so there is no warranty or implied. A 10% deposit is due within 48 hours from end of auction. Balance is to be paid within 10 days from end of auction.
